Hey everyone,

I am really struggling with the design for a new site I am putting together called Auction Snipers (http://www.auction-snipers.com). The intent of the site is to review the various auction winning products available and rate them. The problem I am having with my designs for logos / templates is that they all seem too militaristic.

Do you have any ideas on how I can design a site that is friendly and fun without scaring away anyone?

Thanks!

Try using a target instead... it works for Target. Also, they use red and white, colors that are bold, clean yet not intimidating and as far from a military feel as you can get.

it do not look militaristic for me
Keep work on Blue and that is it
Get rid of times new roman font
Try with tahoma size 9 or 10, and some other colour then black
nothing more ....

I think you have good instincts. I don't think this will create the desired eye-popping results you want. I suggest using a elongated hand stretching out between the two words that name your site, as in reaching out to snatch something. Logos that draw the customer in, always enhance your appeal to ultimately translate to sales. A smart logo is part of your image and your brand, and should tell your story in one glance.

My site is currently being dismantled (redesigned) and being parsed to different niche sites. Our logo design portion of our business will end up on its own site in the coming weeks, but you can see a few samples at an old link that might inspire you with your own logo, once I've had enough posts in here for them to trust me with a url. (I'm new here.)
