When your choosing a reseller package what turns you off the most?

Hmmm

for me it is more of a combination of bandwidth and price.........if they are not in balance then it is a turn off.......

Bahres how do you think up all these polls??????????????

"21inchguns" - Between answering sales and support question these just pop out!

I also think your reply was fair and is justifiable!

I guess I'd fall under something else. To me, space and bandwidth are somewhat secondary choices (not that I've looked for a reseller account for some time, but when I was looking years ago). My primary concerns were network/server reliability (since I knew that I didn't have much control over that, and if it failed I wouldn't have quick answers for my clients)... which loops to the next point which is support. Again, if I need something, which might be rare, or if an emergency cropped up, I think you have to be comforatable with the level of support your provider can... provide. This is what I was looking for above and beyond things like space and bandwidth. Rock solid and there when I needed 'em.

I was lack of both that made me even entertain getting a server in the first place.

"Walter" - You said support!

That really does not make sense to me but maybe you can help?

How can you determine their support for yourself? If you base it on someone else experience then its just that, someone else experience!

When your choosing a reseller package a sales question answered is not the same as a support question answered because support would more than likely be more detailed and need more time!

You really cant judge support until your a client and then this poll does not apply to you because this is before you signup, you are turned off by .....

So support really cant be in it because you get sales NOT SUPPORT HELP?

I have to agree with Walter & Chicken... Bad Support would turn me off.

bahres, I know you can't truly judge support levels until you're with someone, but you can certainly look through WHT and other forums to see what customer experiences have been with support.

And yes, it is someone elses experience, BUT we're not just talking about one person necessarily. If a whole bunch of people post on here about how bad a certain company is at providing support, you start to get a feel that maybe they're not so good. If a whole bunch of people always mention how great X company is, when asked for recommendations, you can put 2 and 2 together and draw yourself a picture about X company.

If you can only get one opinion on support levels - if it's from somebody whose opinion you respect, you're likely to believe it.

As for the sales vs. support argument, there is a difference, sure.. but if a company doesn't answer a sales email for three days - that would put me off *just a little*. It would seemingly be an indication of the company policy and (to me) would give a bad impression of the kind of support I could reasonably expect once signed up...
