View Full Version : bad experience with kikko
bobbyt 03-01-2002, 02:07 PM I'm still steamed over my experience with kikko networks. I put up with the 1hr down times because it was cheap and I got their so called 'unlimited bandwidth'. Then they go and move my server without warning causing a 3 day downtime. Once back up I see speeds of 2-12k a second. It took almost two weeks before I got a reply out of them on what's going on. Since they sure didnt live up to their 99.99% uptime guarantee, I called them on that and demanded a refund. They forwarded my request to the billing dept. and CC'ed me a copy of the email saying 'process this'. My machine was pulled offline shortly after and no refund as of 3 weeks later. I still can't get them to reply to any of my phonecalls or emails. I left another 5 or 6 voicemails today but I don't expect any calls back. Not that I ever really could get a response out of them before. Sure its only $300, but the fact that I make about $3 an hour and had to pay for another server to be setup elsewhere and move all sites and email without anymore downtime cheesed me a bit. Is there anywhere you can report scum companies like this? I still want my 300 bux :\
diederik 03-01-2002, 02:24 PM Sure its only $300
Hmmm I think it's not a low amount. I would be mad if they stole $300 from me
Tazzman 03-01-2002, 03:04 PM I had nearly the same story with my virtual hosting account with them. My loss: $80, their reply: no refund. You'll find my full story in a few other threads round here. They even sent me an invoice today indicating they haven't cancelled my account, I told them to cancel it over 3 weeks ago. They also seem intent on charging my credit card for March too, I've allready sent them an email warning them what the consequences will be if they do.
And you can report scum companies like this to the BBB (don't know the URL) and maybe to the IFCC (http://www1.ifccfbi.gov/index.asp), seeing as it really does come down to internet fraud.
Skywalker 03-04-2002, 03:51 AM K I K I K O .com have charge me USD 400.00 and did not give me the dedicated server, very disappointment.
I have call them and send a lot of emails, never get reply.
Currently, we are request refund from K i K K O, Hope them will refund our money. Otherwise, We will complaint them using Internet Fraud Complaint Center (IFCC) or other agencies.
bobbyt 03-04-2002, 11:55 PM the bbb website is bbb.org I'll be placing my complaint if I don't hear from them this week. How can they charge you for a server then not give it to you? What's wrong with these people?

I checked around and since the end of 2001 there have been many complaints (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8510&perpage=15&pagenumber=3) posted about them on webhostingtalk. I guess I'm not alone. I hope they lose all their customers. I noticed kikko is on several host review sites (http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=kikko.com+reviews&meta=) . I made sure to go around and add my review. I'm sure you wouldn't mind doing the same. I emailed and said I'd complain to the BBB and guess what, I got an email back explaining how refunds are done in batch and will be processed shortly. When I replied and asked for an aprox date they ignored the question but sent me a fwd of my review at host search saying "nice review". How nice to get a response for once.
Beezz 03-05-2002, 10:03 PM I am glad I found this place.
I was just about to sign up with Kikko.
Thank you :)

jmars 03-06-2002, 01:01 AM I like filing with the Federal Trade Commission
https://rn.ftc.gov/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01
Because they put good and bad companies alike out of business. They have the power to do that.
Not enough people file against bad companies, so they spend too much time scrutinizing people selling vitamin C -- the kind who dare to say it might be 'good for you'. ("the bastard! Get em, Jocko! RODNEY KING THOSE VITAMIN C BIOSCAMANOID PUSHIN MUTHAS!") Stupid crap like that. So get your butts over to the form, and report some real fraud. hehe. :)
Seriously... I might joke around a lot, but, I don't see people mention the FTC enough. And they really do have a lot of stopping power, and they really DON'T know enough about real fraudsters out there. So seriously... FTC pound 'em. And report to the politically motived Attorney General in your state, and their state, too. Attorney Generals are also people who tend to harm whatever is on their mind. They, too, need to know about real fraud, so they can do the job they're actually paid to do.
On the other hand, things like The Better Business Bureau can't do a damn thing except put a little mark on their own record for them. BBB often hurts legit companies more than it does fraudsters, too, cuz the bad companies don't give a damn about their records. And the good companies have to end up bowing down to psychos who place illegitimate, unsubstaniated claims agains them with the BBB.
I think what this boils down to is -- whatever anti-fraud outlets you go to... if you're a real victim, you have to be more vocal instead of just brushing this stuff aside so fast... 'cuz right now these places are inundated with 'professional victims' who just make stuff up, and break these systems which otherwise might be of value. They're only as good as the data they have to act upon. Well, we can only hope, anyway. :)
bobbyt 03-08-2002, 12:50 PM It looks like they respond to emails now :)

Nice post on webhosting talk... That's a good one! Before I issue a refund I am now going to scour through your old bandwidth charts to see if you were over.. Perhaps you owe me;)

They don't seem to like it when people voice their experience with kikko ;)
TeleSouthNet 03-08-2002, 01:09 PM The Kikko Dweebs,
don't like it when someone with inside knowledge of their SCREWED UP operation post here as well. It is all I can do to keep myself from telling the world as to why they should avoid doing business with these guys.
jmars 03-08-2002, 02:29 PM Nice reponse they gave you. Very professional. Looking to review their data for their own past errors, to help "make up" for some of the problems they're giving you now. Mmmhmm. Blamin' weaslin' fools.
Screw these f*cktards.
Do make sure you fill out that official complaint form with the FTC above.
The FTC has a neat high speed zeroing in system. If enough people file about a company in a short period of time, they start an immediate investigation and can place an injunction against the company to stop doing business. I think only 3 companies in the history of the FTC have successfully fought 'em. (which makes it great for nasty companies, and not so great for relatively harmless ones attacked by a bored FTC -- bored by real victims like you not filing against parasites like this!) So sick 'em with this organization. It's a short form, takes only a minute or two to fill out depending upon detail level. I've successfully used it before.
They're really into cracking down on internet fraud right now. Go ahead and do do do it, guys, all of ya!
You can stop another C*HOST before this swarm of small minded evil grows even larger.

Softicom.NET 04-10-2002, 03:46 PM call your credit card company and dispute the charges, and send them the emails you are getting from Kikko as proof

Hi Al,
Why don't you tell this forum about the 5 hours I spent with your racks in Globix, stacking and securing and bolting in servers that were "thrown in" and practically falling out of the racks because of the half assed way they were installed.
The Kikko name could be a great one. If the people behind it would actually do what they say they will do and support their customers. Sad....very very sad as it is one of the success stories that will never happen
TeleSouthNet 04-12-2002, 06:07 PM I have a plan that will assist current and former Kikko customers in recovering funds that they have lost as a result of trusting the people at Kikko. Please contact me via email at ceo@telesouth1.com discuss this possibility.
hostman1 04-15-2002, 03:09 AM this guy has way too much time on his hands... biz must be slow for him.. too bad.. for good companies, now seems to be a great time.
bobbyt 04-26-2002, 04:42 PM maybe you should spend less time being snooty to your customers and more time doing your job and issuing people's refunds. Your site is down right now. Sad nowadays anyone thinks they can be a webhost.
