Are you guys able to renew domains which are in Redemption Period at RegisterFly?

Domains in Redemption Period will still appears under the
Manage Domains > Expired Domains section in RegisterFly control panel.

When you renew your domains there, they will take your payment and send you Renewal Confirmation emails that your domains were renewed successfully.

i have renewed a few domains under the expired domains section, the payment went through and i received confirmations.

Later i found that they did not renew the domains. I contacted them and they told me the domains are in redemption period and just refunded the amount to close the case.

I have many questions:

If I cannot renew the domains:

Q) Why are the domains still listed in my control panel?

Q) Why was I able to click on the domains and have the option to renew?

Q) Why did the transaction went through?

Q) Why they deducted my payment?

Q) Why did they even send me Renewal confirmation emails that my domains were renewed successfully?

Q) Why are my domain expiry dates updated in the control panel even though they did not renew it?

Q) Why their system didn't check?

- If I didn't check myself, I will still think that my domains were renewed since they send me confirmations of my renewals.

- If i didn't check myself, the money i paid will still be unaccounted for.


I have to infiorm that this is not the first time I found out that my domains were not renewed even after they deducted my money and sent me confirmations.

I suspect there are other customers who paid and receive confirmations that your domains are successfully renewed but your domains are actually not renewed.

You guys better check your domain renewal records and bank statements.

I have well over 5000 domains and never had an issue with renewals. I use auto-renew on my top names and manually do the others. I NEVER rely on grace period since this is when you can run into trouble. I also check and verify all my names after I renew and have never had a problem or a suprise.

The only issue I had with registerfly was that after I transferred a few domain names away, it still was listed in my account, so I had to ask the support to remove them.

yeah so many companies have this issue including registrars not even resellers.


Rain Maker usually renewing domains in redemption costs $200+renewal fee, maybe their system is not designed yet to support renewing domains in redemption period.
