A day without WHT is like a day without coffee!

My fault as usual. The transfer should have went without a glitch, however I forgot to reenable the board, I was going to the new site so I thought it up.

I thought maybe your watch had stopped. That's the longest 30 minutes I've waited in a long time.

now i know how my forum members felt recently when i said be back in 20 mins and it turned into a 2 1/2 day ordeal :eek:

Never realized how much this forum has become part of my daily routine.

So you transferred hosts?? What happened?

Alright...... Matt and I might as well do it here. We'd like to thank all hosts who offered space for WHT - we were absolutely staggered by the response and the generosity of all.

That said, we finally did make a decision this week (and it wasn't me who made the final decision, so don't come after me :D) - and WHT is now sitting on a new server thanks to Daniel from UltraSpeed USA. You can annoy Daniel for all the specs of the machine, but suffice to say it will serve WHT in the medium-to-long term.

Now excuse me while I go after Matt with a broomstick for being such a nong :D ....

Yesssss... Matt ICQ'd me asking if it was quicker, and I had to mention that errrrr... it was still down :) We now return you to your regularly scheduled discussion forum...

I'm happy now. :)

Even though I don't post near as frequently as I used to I still hit the forums everyday several times a day. I was going through some serious withdrawls when WHT disappeared on me. Now I can come back off the medication :)

This thread has been in the same forum for a while... Wasn't moved as far as I'm aware (unless Matt(s)/Chicken/Kunal sneakily moved it to and fro behind my back :D)

Short story really, our last host (hostmatters.com) was being overly generous in allowing a sucking account to exist, and really this puppy needed a server. Matt, whose become homeless due to the costs of running this forum, has been looking for quite some time for a more permanent home for the beast (his shopping cart wouldn't do). We appealed to the members at large and received many gernerous offers (it really was, in all honesty, quite breathtaking), and here we are.

Matt has been able to move into a halfway house, and has stopped eating cat food. It was really becoming too tiresome to shave him, and we're all glad things are looking up. He still cleans himself in ways I won't go into, but we're all chipping in for therapy (x-mas surprise gift - shhhhh).

If you have any more questions, you probably will want to ask one of the other Moderators.

I am extremely upset to hear of this unfortunate turn of events. I do hope this will not mean a reduction in the quality of this forum, though the absence of the odor of cat-food breath is refreshing.

Oh, that is what the smell was -- I was blaming it on the goats. :sickface:

so like why was it moved? this thread doesnt say much about the details and stuff. last time i remember, annette was hosting it.

That's probably because we haven't really said that much about it ;)

There were a number of reasons WHT chose to make a move, some of which we prefer to keep private, but what I *can* say is (without pre-empting anything MattF might say) :

1. We leave Hosting Matters + Annette/Stephanie on very good terms - it had absolutely nothing to do with her service, support or anything like that.

2. Does a maxed credit card bill sound familiar? :D (and no it wasn't mine)

3. Matt decided to see if anyone was generous to offer free hosting in exchange for links, banners, etc. - more than a dozen hosts replied, quite generously offering everything at our service. To say we were astounded is a bit of an understatement.

Hope this gives you a bit more of an idea and clears up any confusion. Any further questions? Drop a post here....

I still think that cat-food breath thing had a lot to do with it.
