i have 2 vps accounts on servint and defender host.

the most interesting thing is, that today i have the same "picture" on defender host and i have 2 days ago on servint server (of course site's are different).

what's happened.

my site www.dental.am which is hoisted be defender, just now is in down.
is down for all, but not for me.
i have full access by http and ftp, (the only think i don't have is ... that' i can't check my email via outlook.)

i can update my db, via backend and via phpmyadmin, etc ...

but if i try to ping my site (dental.am), i check that my ip is unreachable [Wrong IP address or incorrect hostnam]

trying to ping ip => 204.157.10.117 is successfull.[unknown117.10.157.204.defenderhosting.com (204.157.10.117)

can anybody explain the reason of this fact.
i never close[ban] or open access to any ip from my wht ... and i don't know how to do it .. :=-(
so it's not a my side error .. :-(

of course i contact my hoster and ask this question, but still now (1 hour) the only answer i have is "Please be patient, I am working on this."

who can explain .. what can be the reason of this.

the most interesting thing, that 2 days ago i have the same problem on my another site (on servint server).
site is html site (so no db, no any script working) .. the answer i get from my hoster was:[The servers did not go down, but it appears that there may have been a DNS issue. The DNS server has been restarted.]

as result my site was in down more than 2-3 hours (it what's i check).
greats !!!

may be the same picture check anybody else ?

Hi,

This is definitely a DNS issue on the server. Your host might have DNS setup incorrectly. There can be many reasons behind it. Anyway, you should ask for an explanation regarding this issue. And also tell them that restarting the DNS server multiple times doesn't always work! Inexperienced support techs tend to do that all the time. The problem might be somewhere else, specially in the DNS zone files.

Gabbar

the explanation is:

"If your registrar for YOUR MAIN SITES requires that IPs be stored with your ns entries, please set those IPs to ns1=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx ns2=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxy. If not, don't worry, they'll propogate.

[he suggest me to change one IP address for ns2]

You had duplicated ns2 entries which was causing problems. I have deleted the offending entries, and www.dental.am is now working"
================
hmm .. .what do u think can it be the reason ?

the only think that i cann't understand why my site was visible for me? (and unvisible for other IP's) ?
can this problem cause such a thing?

thx

p.s. 5-6 months everthing was ok and ot once it cause such a problem?
btw. i don't think that there was duplicated ns2 entries, but unfortunately i don't sure.

http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/dnsreport.ch?domain=www.dental.am+ is now reporting the right entries for your DNS servers.

You are saying it was working for 5 months on our VPS and now just only stopped working?

Yes, it's right.

U can try to contact ur staff, if u don't believe me.

the only think that i want to know ... why the same history on both my sites on different hosts.

and the second why it was visible for me (it's not a cashe) and unvisible for all others.

2 TomK

You are saying it was working for 5 months on our VPS and now just only stopped working?

2 days ago i got a such an email:

IMPORTANT: Do not ignore this email.
The hostname (host.mysite***.net) resolves to . It should resolve to 2**.***.**.117. Please be sure to correct /etc/hosts as well as the 'A' entry in zone file for the domain.

Some are all of these problems can be caused by
/etc/resolv.conf being setup incorrectly. Please check this file if you
believe everything else is correct.

You may be able to
automaticly correct this problem by using the ' Add an A entry for your
hostname ' under ' Dns Functions ' in your Web Host Manager

when i contact ur staff, the answer was

I checked the settings for host.my-site.net and it is resolving correctly to 2**.***.**.117 (the same IP)

now, can u explain ... what's the problem?
if everything is ok, why i got such a email from server ?
