how fast can those be fixed?

Depends. They have to track it down. My organization is getting them a lot internally. ICMP fragment flood, UDP flood, you name it. Everything has been from Linux boxes. Once we track it, we just kill the switch port and notify the sys admin that their box has been compromised.
