I recently tried transfering one of my domain names to NameCheap but failed because my domain name is locked at my current registrar, DWSDomains.

As advised by NameCheap, I should check my account on DWSDomains for an option to uplift the lock. When I try checking my domains there, I couldn't find the option. I sent them a support ticket but didn't get an answer yet for three days now.

My domain name is expiring in a week and I really need to initiate this transfer as soon as possible. Is there any other way to uplift the lock and transfer it?

you should try calling your current registrar.

if it will expire in a week, consider renewing it now. the transfer issues can be worked later.

i dont believe you can do a transfer that close to the expiration date.

i think it has to be 30 days prior.

I've transfered a domain 5 days til expiration and it went through - but its safer to do that at 30-60 days before they expire.

with some registrars its even possible to transfer domains AFTER expiration date, but don't mount on it.

hopefully you'll be able to transfer it since its not expired, but only your current registrar can unlock it.

So, theres really no other way? My current registrar seems to be dead and is not responding to any support inquiries. I can't renew my domain name due to lack of US funds. Is there any higher authority I could contact that can unlock domains?

I think they're resellers of enom- you could trying contacting them.

Most likely they are based on this partial WHOIS info I got:

Domain Name: DWSDOMAINS.COM
Registrar: ENOM, INC.

Unfortunately only the registrar or reseller in this case can unlock
the name. If the reseller isn't responsive, contact their partner
registrar.

try contacting enom from www.enom.com/help, maybe they can help if the reseller is dead

I tried going to the eNom site but it seems like they don't have support tickets available. I don't know what to do, my domains expiring in 5 days and its pointed on an active site!

Have you seen eNom > About Us (http://www.enom.com/aboutus.asp) - this could help :)

Kind regards

I tried contacting eNom on their email, info@enom.com but I haven't gotten a reply yet. My domain is due to expire in three days and I seriously need help. Just look at my site (http://www.daeternal.com/) and see all the people who will be heart broken. :(

enom does not answer emails for support. Go to the help area and just raise a ticket. From experience it can take as little as 4 hours and as long as 36 depending on the problem.
