View Full Version : Which one do you use?
BeCoMe1 02-28-2002, 07:43 AM Which one do/would you use?
If you are using one now then vote on that one, or if you are using one but want to change the provider then vote on the new one.
Note: If you vote "Other" then please provide the name here.
Thanks.
Paul-UKWSD 02-28-2002, 08:02 AM We use WorldPay and find their service very good, would highly recommend them.
WorldPay have been great for us as well :)
.::DefCon::. 02-28-2002, 09:05 AM We use PayPal. Their prices are one of the lowest around!
Only negative thingie: people must sign up with them, and when some people refuse to do that, you're loosing customers. :(
That's why we're thinking about getting 2checkout as a second payment processor. :)
ToastyX 02-28-2002, 09:12 AM What about charge.com? I'm looking into a merchant account.
.::DefCon::. 02-28-2002, 09:22 AM Haven't had any experience with them...
They seem good though. I remember I wanted to sign up with them at first (I may still do so).
...but you should find out more about them from people who are experienced with them.
Take care,
Thomas
arun1405 02-28-2002, 09:24 AM I use www.hostdepartment.com.

charge.com is just an authnet reseller. We got our account with them, and I have no complaints. The reseller is pretty much out of the picture after the account is setup.
To answer the poll, we use both authnet & paypal. That gives the most flexability IMO.

Devorius 02-28-2002, 03:14 PM People don't have to sign up with PayPal if you use their merchant account; they can pay by credit. They also have some of the lowest rates for merchant accounts around.
.::DefCon::. 02-28-2002, 03:20 PM Correction: they can pay by credit card the first time only!
But on the 'pay'-page, the also need to provide a username and password for their account. If they refuse to fill in this information, PayPal won't let your customer pay the fee neither. :(
Kinda sucks doesn't it...
SMERSH 02-28-2002, 04:38 PM Is Miva a payment processor? Why are they on the list?
No offense, but personally I would never go with a company that exclusively uses PayPal for credit card processing. I mean, if you're a real company with a real business license shouldn't you have a real payment processor?
I guess a $99/month server, a pre-built website template, and a PayPal account is all that's required to be a hosting "company" nowadays.
21inchguns 02-28-2002, 08:07 PM what about sfcommerce........anyone here using them?? I heard they were pretty good.....
otherground 03-01-2002, 03:00 AM We use EMS ... http://www.emscorporate.com ... very happy with setup/service
rusty7r 03-01-2002, 04:59 PM Can anyone tell me the benefit of having an International Merchant Account? I use ECHO because it has good support 24/7 and is a primary credit card and check processing Gateway and a bank all in one, not a reseller, therefore the prices are the best i've seen yet it only provides merchant accounts for U.S. based businesses and some of my customers ask me about it.
Sesran 03-01-2002, 06:07 PM We use 2Checkout.com
NO PROBLEMS AT ALL.
BeCoMe1 03-01-2002, 07:45 PM Is your choice based on price or quality (or both)?
Which one do you think has the best price?

Sorry, was not able to get back here, been very busy.
Actually, when we first signed up with 2Checkout.com was when Instabill closed up shop. We had had our final decision down to either 2Checkout.com or Revecom
2CO had more features we wanted than Rev.
Rev offered us free setup to go with them.
I almost went with Rev because of the free setup but decided on 2CO when they offered it to me too. I am very glad I ended up where I am today. I have no personal experiences with Rev, but heard they had some issues for a while.
Lonny 03-09-2002, 04:21 AM I use http://www.ematic.com and so far I've received an excellent service - prompt replies and easy to use control center!
