Hey all,
My own personal computer is running windows 2000 and is currently running 256Mb DDR RAM.
I heard that there is a max and the amount of ram you can have say 1024Mb of RAM before ur computer say screws, is this true? is there a max amount of RAM i can have because i want to upgrade today (next 1hr)?

I dun think so for typical Win2k or Win2k3 I put 2 GB DDR Ram no prob, I think ram limit is more towards the mother board and the wallet size : )

You should be able to go 1GB no problem, even two GB no problem. I think the max for a 32 bit intel chip is 4GB or so.

You'll be an even happier bunny once you get that extra ram in there. I have 1gb on my laptop even (windows xp)

the maximum ram supported on Windows 2000/2003 Standard is 4GB. Enterprise and datacenter versions support around 16 and 32GB.

To support more than 4gb of memory like 8gb put /pae
Check this url or put in google windows 2000 /pae
