So why is that funny? One site inspired the other! They are not the same.
I thought the funny thing was that the domain recieved bids upto $2500. I bet you feel really stupid for not accepting it at the time. The most you are likely to get here is $10 now. Hey If you do get $2500 or anything remotely like it I will eat my monitor!
Simon
BrianF 02-28-2002, 07:53 AM I think it's a little more than inspired, but thats just me.

What do you mean by a little more than inspired. Are you accusing them of ripping off another site? If you are that is not fair. I have seen really blatant ripoffs that other people thought were inspired...this is not what I would call a rip off but it is similar in design and layout. Then again..Pick any 10 hosts from here at random and I bet there are just as many similarities amongst them.
Anyway, Im still laughing at $2500
Ben
BrianF 02-28-2002, 04:16 PM In my personal opinion, yes I am calling it close to a rip. Of course it's not exactly like pointonweb.com, but it's pretty close. Lighten the colors, move the nav menu over a little and you have the pointonweb website. Besides, newmedia3 is a design company, wouldn't you like to think that a design company could create their own layouts?

Our site has been up for a long time... Our site has been designed from scratch... How do you know that this other site you talk about didn't copy off us..... Jealousy is a funny things friends...
You couldn't copy a site if you tried... I've seen your site BrianF.... I gaurentee that wasn't copied except maybe from a "how not to make a website" book... If you want a real web designer give me a call......
Thanks a lot BennyT, as long as you realize good design when you see it...
BrianF 02-28-2002, 04:50 PM lol...I'm not even going to respond to that immature comment, I'm not looking for a flame war here.

IceBlaZe 02-28-2002, 05:22 PM We've ....Had...Enough of your.....Immature.... Comments and $2,500....Domains....Yeah...A few more dots....ok were done.... just a bit more.... ok.
No one complained here NewMedia3, but as a real designer you should have came up with something more, or, if it's the other way around just say so without crying and dotting all over the forum. the two sites look incredibly similiar, I'm not gonna say who copied who cos I don't have a clue.
Besides, Pointtoweb or whatever the name of that site is not BrianF's, BrianF never complained that you copied off him you imature squid :)

NewMedia3,
If you don't mind me giving my opinion on your domain name, I don't think it's worth $2,500. You might have been able to get that much a couple of years ago, but times have changed now. Anyhow, I'm not saying it's impossible to sell it for that much, you might even get more if you find the right buyer, and if you do, then more power to you.
;)
