Hi,
A few days ago an old client asks me if I could send him the source files (.psd mainly) for a paid website I made for him almost a year ago. He's willing to pay extra for it, the question is should I charge him? And if so how much since he origninally paid $80 for the original site design.
What do you guys think?

Why would you charge him? I would include this type of service in the design package...
Just send it to him, he'll be grateful and hopefully remember you later =]

Yes, do not charge him..he already paid for the development.

In the future, you may want to send him a CD in the mail for his web site. It costs under a dollar in all, and it would probably be easier for them to store the disc than to store the files (as hard drives tend to like to erase themselves sometimes).

I would follow what Josh posted by contacting the Client and advising them that you will provide all their files on a CD and send it to them. Price to be determined between you & the Client.

Also, you many want to put in the contract you have your clients sign somewhere (I hope) that you will provide the files to the client on disc once, and after that they will have to pay $5-10 for every additional shipment.
Cheers,
Josh

I agree with the others. We provide the client with the PSD file just in case they need it. I mean, what would happen if my HD crashed with the other back ups that I have? That would mean that I have lost all my client's work

I would also recommend keeping copys of your work on a re-writeable CD, as well as on a remote server (if they are that important to you, which they should be). That way, if anything happens to YOUR computer, you have not one, but two reliable backups.
