View Full Version : Reliable UK Dedicated Server - £169.99 With 50Gb Bandwith and Cpanel!

Hi,

I recently acquired a few Linux boxes for my own web hosting business in the Red Bus Intra-house in London Docklands, I currently have one spare server and hope to have a few more in a few weeks time.

Anyhow details about the server:

Pentium 3 1000mHZ, 512 MB Ram and 20GB Hard Drive.
Web Host Manager / Cpanel configured and ready to use.
50GB Bandwidth per Month.

The Server is located in the Red Bus Intra-house which has some of the fastest connections in the UK.

The server currently has 1 ip assigned and with the nature of web host manager / cpanel you can host literally hundreds of web sites on a single ip.

We aim to be able to assign the server with a second ip, and possibly more in the future.

We can offer basic support for free, meaning if whm/cpanel is playing up we can normally fix it. If you login to the shell and accidentally cause a problem which screws up the server then there will be a charge to fix it.

Strictly no Warez, IRC, Spamming or Adult web sites (Porn).

Server can be ready in as little as 2 hours.

No contract required £169.99 per month + No Setup Fee!
Payment via Credit Card, NoChex.com, Bank Transfer or Cheque (UK Only).

Server ip is 213.239.44.125 if you wish to do some pings.

For more information post below or contact dedicated@amityhosting.co.uk

Nothing wrong with the original post but that statement is ridiculous

Hi,

I cant see what is wrong with his statement? Ok its not the sort of thing i would expect to read under my post but its a buletin board where people are free to express there opinions.

Or do you disagree with the statement? I actually have not yet found anywhere cheaper than what i offer in the UK so i guess his statement is valid. :)

Anyhow, offer is still available. All enquires welcome.

As i said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with your offer, post or anything, but for him to say that is a dam good price, essentially implying that it is cutting edge i would say is wrong

It is a competitive price i agree

Hi,

Our bandwith comes from AboveNet, Carrier 1 and Level 3 which i think Uk2Net also uses.

If you would like to contact myself direct then i use ICQ - 143672901

Added : The servers are connected directly to the backbones listed above, these are 2Gig+ pipes.

Regards
-Darryl

Hi,

So your servers' arn't on UK2NET's network.. Hmm. This traceroute must be made up then. Nevermind...

And being as you have 3 pipes your using BGP and I guess would have done your own IP address allocation.

So this information from www.ripe.net would be wrong as well.. You best get in contact them at get that sorted..

Most worried of the UK

Hi Gareth,

The ips are assigned by UK2Net as they own a b class and as i stated in a previous post its pretty hard to get IP'S in the UK. UK2Net is the one of the largest host in the UK, as you can see from the trace route the bandwith comes from carrier1, then goes to UK2net. The servers are colocated with our other servers at the redbus datacenter, they use multiple providers.

The url is - http://www.interhouse.redbus.com/ENG/

I have very little information on the network itself, all i know is its reliable from my own experiance, and that we are connected to the UK's internet backbone. Were no major dedicated server company but we are aiming to provide smaller companies like us, with quality dedicated servers at a price which is affordable by all.

Feel free to ask anymore questions.

rmartin are you taking into consideration that cpanel costs $100/month? When you add that up, it's extremely well priced for a server in the uk.

The above statement is utter rubbish. All of the main carriers have ip address allocations and can easily get more.

>UK2Net is the one of the largest host in the UK,

Big in terms of what? Profit turn over? Number of employees (I belive they have very few like 2 or 3 - could be wrong though)?

What about clara, nildram, easynet, demon, NTL, Telewest. They are all FAR bigger then uk2net.???

>as you can see from the trace route the bandwith comes from >carrier1, then goes to UK2net. The servers are colocated with >our other servers at the redbus datacenter, they use multiple >providers.

Congratuatlions.. You understand the fact that redbus is a netural co-location provider. Who has multiple providers within the builiding. UK2NET use the providers you stated a full page of information and pictures can be found at their site.
http://amail.co.uk/system.htm#network

Yes that is on UK2net site I know it looks like a weird url.

>I have very little information on the network itself, all i know is >its reliable from my own experiance

What? Well you do now there's explanation on the above link ;-)

>, and that we are connected to the UK's internet backbone.

Kind of.. Most the core infrastructure is housed in Telehouse Europe. Yes you are connected indirectly to 3 backbones.

>Were no major dedicated server company but we are aiming to >provide smaller companies like us,

I wouldn't have guessed.

>with quality dedicated servers at a price which is affordable by >all.

>Feel free to ask anymore questions.

OK.. I'll ask again. Is your ip transit proivder UK2NET?

What speed is your connection? It isn't 2gigbit UK2NET do not offer those kinds of connections. They provided bandwidth in 512k - 1mbit blocks. Anyway a 2gig connection would cost the best part of a million quid.

Thanks and please answer my questions...

I am aware.

It is $75 for 10 or more license which for a company is not that many

+ the 50GB is most likely (i dont know but if it is uk2net) supplied on a fixed rate line so is more likely to be a 100% usage kind of 50GB and not a normal reachable target.

I did say it was a good price but not a price that no other uk company could manage

Thanks

HI,

Rmartin - we offer 50gb bandwith on actual usage, i have used the machines and downloaded from 300k a sec - 1-2MB per sec. I get this data from when i run /scripts/upcp manually.

Garethr - I personally do not know this information, i mearly do Sales and Support. However i have asked our server admin he will get back to me.

However i feel that you are afraid of our competition as our prices are much lower than yours.

The server is still avliable to those who are inresteded, if anyone would require further information then please mail dedicated@amityhosting.co.uk rather than post below.

we do not do a similar product to this either less or more expensive, so this statement is untrue and i would be interested how you would therefore know if your prices are any better

Hi,

you sell dedicated servers in the UK, which would mean i am one of your competitors.

I do not wish to discuss the offer withyourself, as you are not intresteded in purchasing the server.

The server is still avliable, you may also like to mail dedicated@amityhosting.co.uk as we may be able to do win2k servers for around £180 per month, including control panel and 50gb bandwith.

Do not post questions here as they will not be answered.

Which part of that did you not understand????

We do 1 dedicated server package that is so completely different specced and featured that we do not see you as direct competition.. plus we do not offer unlimited everything as you do?

where is you unlimited stuff comming from??? because we would love to know??

AmityHosting
03-01-2002, 02:44 PM
i dont know who WE is but i presume you mean yourself, now i dont flame down your posts but it appears you are trying to sabotage my offer, as phurhaps it is a better deal than yourself can offer.

The unlimited that you are talking about is our personal package at £60 per year, the user gets 500mb web space and 1000mb bandwith, the user has the ability to create as many subdomains, mail accounts and mysql databases without limit, providing they are non profit, thus being a personal account.

What is your problem against this??? It is completly irelevant to the orginal post by myself.
