Anyone know of a reasonable toll free number provider? One that has a flat rate and forwards to an exiting number.

But Telcan.net is good too.

I signed up with TouchTone Communications through WorldWide Phone (http://www.worldwidephone.com/). No Setup, No Monthly Fee, 2.9 cents per minute within the US.

They offer other plans that make work better for you.

I recommend kall8.com for price and stability & gotvmail.com for service and features. It is important to look for double-leg billing. Many providers have an incoming rate that they tack on to the live rate, making the call twice as expensive as they would advertise.

why not install a voip gateway at your US friends house
and deliver that voice via skype. much cheaper

We use freedomvoice.com and I like them but they don't have one feature and I'm annoyed about it. You can't forward your calls to multiple numbers simultaneously. Other than that, they have some pretty good features.

Ringcentral.com is also good.

We also use Freedom Voice. I love all the extra features like call transfer, follow me, faxing, hold music, the clal announce and the web features are superb

They need to add the simultaneous feature; it's KEY. Having the call transfered to one number at a time is a pain.

The simultaneous feature is interesting but might be annoying. I'll ask them about it on the weekly call.

But my question - if it rings your number and my number at the same time and I answer it first, wouldn't that get a little annoying? I mean, I would want to know if the person hung up or someone answered. Or are all three parties on a conference call at that time?

Corey, look at this way.

You have 10 people who answer calls and each number is set to ring 3 times. Which one would you want:

1. One guy picks up all calls as it rings him first while the others don't get any. (Call can sit and wait up to the 10th call; 30 rings if set to 3 rings per number). Guess what no one will wait that long.
2. Phone rings all 10 people and the fist one that picks up get it. (Customer only has to sit for 3 rings or whatever you set it to.)

Which one would you think is more convinient?

When you have multiple people that answer the 800 number simultaneous feature is needed. If you only have one then who cares!!

*thinks of the company we use..hmmm* OH!! I know! GotvMail... (no I litterally had to think who our provider was) They provide great services for little costs. I sometimes forget because we never have any reason to re-visit there site or check our usage or anything. But yes, GotvMail has very friendly support staff and they have good pricing, plus you get a lot for what you pay for. I'd definitely recommend them!

I would advise against using PNG. I had them at one point for LD service, and they charged me 65 cents per minute to a UK number because they claimed that I was calling a rural, mobile number in the UK, which was absolutely untrue. They provided me with no way to contest or otherwise investigate the rate billed, and I was stuck with over $100 in LD charges for a call that should have cost less than $15.

I agree with cahost.net .. A lot of places have it setup like that and it seems to me it is much more efficient. Of course depending on how many employees you having answering phones you will have certain options to define so you don't end up having 30 different people pick up the phone at the same time..

I guess it would depend on your business model. Ill try to ask them when they will implement this - they are always busy adding new services, I somewhat get lost
