Could you include whether you do it part time or full time? (forgive me, created 3 threads for this purpose, got the first two wrong... :() MCHost-Marc 02-27-2002, 08:40 AM Around 15. Fulltime ...or should i say overtime? :D DomiNET.net 02-27-2002, 09:04 AM Don't remember my last vacation! :( host911 02-27-2002, 09:44 AM :o more than 12 Hour everyday:cartman: EyeSee 02-27-2002, 12:41 PM I voted 12 hours ++, and i'm full-time. The Laughing Cow 02-27-2002, 01:37 PM < 2 hours but I am still fairly small. Most of that time I am adding new features to our site etc. Omni 02-27-2002, 08:02 PM May I ask how much of that time you invested in your daily operations are actually put into productive use? (as in used for doing something that actually makes your company better... like web designing etc) Remember someone said he/she spent a lot of time lazing around (during work hours) waiting for customers to send emails in order to reply them. And something about how he/she is afraid of leaving the place cause the fear of the server crashing haunts him/her... 21inchguns 02-27-2002, 08:07 PM around 12 hours +- 2......... not much time is spent lazing around........if so it is usually for thinking or trying to come up with new ideas etc. akuo 02-28-2002, 10:21 AM Woohoo, I tipped the 12+ over 50% :) Where's the category for "The only time I'm not working on it is when I'm asleep..." :D Actually no, that's a lie.. I really need a waterproof laptop for the shower hehe ck 02-28-2002, 12:25 PM How about an option for "All The Time"? :) I believe this sums up for a lot of us hehe The Laughing Cow 02-28-2002, 12:26 PM I seem to be the lucky one. Though I only have a few customers at yet (and am turning profit) I have the type we all like to define as "easy, good customers" (touch wood). Obviously all slight issues we have had with clients are ironed out briskly DaHOST 02-28-2002, 12:43 PM I'm still fairly new but I put in a good 12+ hours. Most of the time is spent trying to come up with new ideas. The Laughing Cow 02-28-2002, 12:47 PM Yeah I agree about time on ideas. I seem to spend a good while configuring forums, support desks etc etc and tweaking the website (being a webdeveloper too) ;) I think although this may seem lazy which it's not, if you target the right audience and have good services you shouldn't really receive hardly any support requests. The only ones we really get are asking for things setup on accounts etc. Jay Suds 02-28-2002, 02:23 PM Looks like we're all a bunch of workoholics. I personally put in 10 - 14 hours a day, but take off early most Fridays and try not to look back until Monday morning rolls around (unless of course the dreaded pager goes off :() avara 02-28-2002, 02:59 PM Originally posted by dominet Don't remember my last vacation! :( Vacation? I forgot what that word means. :( Walter 02-28-2002, 05:14 PM Originally posted by avara Vacation? I forgot what that word means. May I help you? Vacation means: "connecting a new server to the lan", but sometimes it also means "searching for a runaway script". Ok? A fair percent of that is design projects though. Support rolls in throughout the day and gets done as it arrives. Nothing like having a system that works :) Greg Moore Dylan 03-03-2002, 11:48 PM :D all you busy people can redirect your sites to mine so that all new clients come my way allowing you to spend less time being work-a-holics :D clapadula 03-04-2002, 12:06 AM I spend 12-15 hours per day, 7 days a week. You could definently call that full time plus... We also have several others (programmers, marketing, etc). That easily put in 8-12 hours per day 5-7 days per week. To do this right, you have to be full time. |
