View Full Version : AdSense does google allow ADS on a free hosting comunity?
WWWhost 02-22-2005, 10:18 AM hello,
just curiose if google allows to use adsens ADV's on a free hosting comunity. In other words we offering free webspace (domain.com - no subdomains etc) and would like to use adsens in all hosted webpages. I couldn't finde any specific information about this.
thanks
amusive.com 02-22-2005, 08:10 PM It's not against the rules to do so. I know a lot of people who post them on user content.
nuthin 02-22-2005, 11:27 PM only problem i for-see of doing such a thing is you will really have to monitor your users content.
if there doing something against googles guidelines, i would think your adsense account could *possibly* be banned.
i have always wondered about this myself.
i might be wrong though.
sshepherd 02-23-2005, 03:16 PM It is allowed, however Nuthin is correct, your account is liable for any violations of sites on your service that may violate the google adsense ToS.
If you're proactive in removing accounts that violate the adsense ToS (which most likely violate yours as well) you shouldn't have any problems.
badhosts.org 02-26-2005, 09:55 PM yep, as stated above....if one of your users had some dodgy content on their site (excessive swearing, porn etc) adsense could cancel your account.
Xhf894 02-28-2005, 03:22 PM If you set up in a community style, people can go in there respective places. then you can create channel adverts without risking being canceled. business sites get business adverts and porn sites get porn adverts.. I know google doesnt do porn you will have to go to adult revenue service for that. if you dont break apart your customers into channels/communities then google will **** you off eventually
badhosts.org 03-02-2005, 01:24 AM i like that idea of splitting into catagories, let the users sort themselves out :)
simpson733 03-02-2005, 04:14 AM I think they should have it, im still a little choppy on this though
MidHost Staff 03-03-2005, 05:42 PM dont do it unless your hosting service does not allow porn hosting, manage ur member and u could try around.
ichris 03-03-2005, 07:04 PM I used to run a free webhosting company with Google Adsense. In order to prevent my account being banned for various reasons, the Terms of Service I had restricted anything done that was not within the Adsense code. Although this wasn't full proof, I'm sure it helped some.

Xoopiter-Jeff 03-03-2005, 08:00 PM Hi,
We have adsense banners on thousands of accounts and have only had one adsense rep contact us for "lack of content". I try and filter my users as best as possible but with 3000+ accounts and 4 staff it is rather difficult. If they contact me I look in to it right away.

WWWhost 03-03-2005, 08:23 PM "ichris" and "Xoopiter-Jeff" i am just curiose . How did you subscribe to adsense (wich category)? Do you spefic your give free webspace and run there ADS on those websites?
Thanks
destnj 03-03-2005, 09:11 PM I wonder how many chances or times you get for someone at Google to contact you and then maybe ban your account? I would think you would have a couple of chances???
brkonthru 03-05-2005, 06:39 AM Xoopiter-Jeff, if you dont mind me asking. How much ad revenue did generate on a daily basis by using google adsense on those 3k free accounts ?
b_andrew 03-05-2005, 06:56 AM I suppose one solution would be to give some users Google ads, some Clicksor e.t.c., so that if for some reason they strike you off, you still have something.
dollar 03-05-2005, 08:03 AM Well so long as you keep an eye on all of your accounts (i mean once a day, not once a month) google should have no problem with it.
