My first attempt at getting information didn't garner much, so I'll try once more, but without all the excess verbage!

Does anybody have any experience with or feedback on any of these inexpensive hosts I'm considering:

integrahosting.net
sterlet.net
primenethosting.com
alwayswebhosting.com
vindematrix.com

Would really appreciate hearing from you! Thanks.

do a search for them here at WHT and I'm sure you'll find some info.

Yes, I've done that, thanks. Not much info found, so I'm looking for more, and also for more recent experience.

Do you hosts you mention have their own forums?

That's normally a good place to look around - just to see if the customers are happy.

I feel I have a fairly good ideas of which are the more commonly known hosts out there, but oddly enough, I have never heard of any of those...

Perhaps they are all pretty new. I guess that's the problem with both being new and choosing somebody new - there just ain't much feedback yet.

But I know at least one of these hosts - alwayswebhosting.com - has posted here recently himself and had others comment on him as well.

Anyway, I still hold hope that SOMEBODY will have something to say about some of these hosts!

And I will go check the forums of those I have not checked yet.

Afterthought - Can anybody recommend one or two of the many host review sites as worthwhile and robust? findwebspace, hostsearch, hostpulse, webhosters, epinions -- all seem okay, but it's like finding a needle in a haystack mostly. Again, probably has a lot to do with hosts being relatively new. And even if you do, who knows how credible the reviewers are. Sigh.

The fact that vindematrix.com is using sex to sell hosting is laughable, none of the sites listed even have a professional looking web site so it hardly inspires confidence for me.

I would ask for other recommendations within this board if I was you.

Hi,
The comapnies you have listed are like us new hosts or very small companies. Give them a break, there site designs might not be great but who does have a fortune to spend when starting up your own busniess. All that matters is the speed of their servers and their customer support and customer service skill.

Also remember some of these smaller companies resell for some of the larger companies -so many go in without spending anything at all on web design and wait until they make a profit before re-designing their website etc.

Thanks

No. However, I want to take this opportunity to plug javapie.com, the host I've been with as a reseller since June of last year. They're with Alabanza, do not overload their servers, are responsive to support requests, have very affordable and feature-rich hosting packages, and have been extremely reliable overall.

Yes, their site design sucks out loud, but if you can get past that, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I was previously with Jumpline and Linuxwebhost - IMO, Javapie buries them both.

Doesn't look like I'm going to get much feedback, so I guess these hosts' newness, or maybe just the nature of my request, I don't know, is a real obastacle to getting feedback.

"Where did you find these hosts?" sounds a like a bit of a putdown, not sure why it was asked.

"Ask others here for recs" - Did that in a previous post, but got very few responses.

I do appreciate the responses from the few of you that were helpful.

Checked out javapie, didn't look as good as the ones I'd found and listed.

Yeah, vindematrix' adult deal was a turnoff, but then I figured if anybody has hosting down, it's those guys, and his deal was/is good.

And thanks, samuelbrr, for giving new hosts a break!

Bottom line: I realize I am asking for too much, I need to bite the bullet and make a decision. Thanks to all!
