Hi,

We have been in the hosting business for a little over a year now and in this time frame we have been getting our new clients from selling turnkey websites in auctions like ebay, yahoo, epier, stormpay.

This has been about the only stratagy we have used to promote our business, haven't done much of anything else.

Any body got any new tips on how to get more hosting clients, by different means of advertising???

Check out the tutorials for webhosting. There are quite a few good marketting strategies in there.

Edit: In this forums sub-board there are tutorials, as with more boards. Just go though all the sub-boards.

Provide a service second to none.

I rely purely (not a smart strategy, I know) on word of mouth at the moment to get my hosting image around - and people come because the people who've reccommended them are genuinely pleased with what I do.

Word of mouth is a marketing strategy, which works pretty fine if you provide high quality service and strive to exceed customers' satisfaction.

Some people think that advertising is the only method to increase sales. Marketing of the product starts at the earlier stage of the product life cycle. Important is not only how much you invest, but how wisely you make your investments to make the portfolio, which will have the best outcome.

I agree with the way you do it...We have been growing for a few years now and mostly just by word of mouth..

We offer excellent customer support....Sometimes even call clients if we notice they have not uploaded their site within a few weeks of signing up..just to make sure they know how to work thier cPanel and FTP client.

And I would say we signup about 3-5 clients a week just off referals alone....

Remember people will tell friends if they are happy..not as many if they are not happy..but still if s/he only tells one..that is all that matters..

right?

If you look after your existing customers, they will look after you :)
