For the domains that are on-hold, if they don't get registered again by the original owners, when do they get deleted (so that we can register them for ourselves)?
Thanks
Thanks

Thanks Lats 02-26-2002, 07:28 PM Some good results from this search. http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=272340&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending Lats... hostjet 02-26-2002, 09:44 PM the first indication as to when it may drop is to have a look at the domain name whois and see who it is registered with. the different registrars have different policies for dropping domain names which are past their expiry date and are on hold. Ahmad 02-27-2002, 07:22 AM Thanks lats, I did a search, but it seems that I used the wrong keywords ;) Thanks hostjet, It is registrered with NetworkSolutions.com, when do you think it will be released? hostjet 02-27-2002, 08:00 AM sorry, but if it is network solutions, you could be waiting a very very long time. They dont have a formal policy for deleting names, could be 6 months, a year, maybe even two years. They are well known for holding onto names for a long time. ToastyX 02-28-2002, 03:28 PM I see expired domain names registered through Network Solutions that still work. I think they delete them like on a certain day each year. thewitt 03-03-2002, 04:52 PM As has already been stated, NetSol has no policy on when they drop domain names. If you would like to complain about this, go to icann.org and file a formal complaint. -t |
