Hello. Currently, we are at PR 5. What's yours?
Have you got a great idea on how to improve your rank?

:)

PR4 on a couple of sites. To improve rank get backlinks on sites that have a higher PR.

PR 7! Cool. My congratulations.

:)

I think we will have to work on increasing our PR as well.
More suggestions are welcome!

Once I redo some thing on my site, I'm going to start actively promoting my hosting business in an effort to raise my PR

Not really sure how PR benefits. Our forum has a PR6 but performs better in search engine rankings than the website.

To test for PR there a number of Page Rank checking tools around. I believe Google Toolbar will give you the page rank immediately.

I have to admit I don't fully understand the results. It says I have a page rank of 3/10, what does this exactly mean?

I think this page discusses about Page Rank:
Page Rank Explained Correctly with Examples (http://www.iprcom.com/papers/pagerank/).

We wish you well.

Question: Do you have any idea how the Page Rank is affected if two competing websites (say both offer web design services) have links for each other? I am not sure if some of you have tested this possibility. Anyone? This should be interesting!

PR 32? I am not sure if that is possible. From what I understand PR is from 1 to 10.

You must be talking about the SERPs? (Search Engine Results Pages) where you are now number 32 (previously number 4) on the list for a certain keyword/phrase searched?

Our's has been 5 for quite a while... the website's over four years old in it's current form and pretty sloppy though...

If the new one ever gets online it should improve. :)

Our main site is showing a PR4. We changed our name to Warp-Factor just over a year ago, so I'm happy with a PR4 right now. As we continue to grow our advertising campaigns, I'm sure it will grow.

I have a site that's not even hosted. I have set up nameservers, but in fact never got around to create the actual account on the server, and it has gotten a PR of 3.

Anybody care to explain that.

Sites don't have PageRank, pages do.

The average PageRank is between four and five... since it's displayed "rounded down," if you're showing a four on the toolbar for a given page, it's about average -- if you're working on increasing PageRank, don't brag about a PR4. :)

But bottom line, PageRank is so far down the list of things to worry about in search engine positioning specifically or in marketing a site in general that you're generally better off not even worrying about it. In the course of meetig important site marketing goals, you'll probably end up with a higher PageRank on most pages of your site than you had to begin with -- for those people who are made happier by seeing that green bar get longer. But it's better thought of as a side effect of effective site promotion, rather than as a goal or as a measure of effectiveness.
