I have been to transferring my site to a number of different hosts ovet the last 2 years. I have been force to move for a number of reasons.
The biggest problem for me was that my UBB script put a load on the server (shared server). I was told that because the UBB script would cause a load on any shared server, I should consider a dedicated server. I finally went the dedicated route, but could not afford to continue paying the $250.00/month charge.
Last month I was forced to go back to a shared server, but I had to discontinue the use of my UBB for fear that I would create the same problems. My vistors have been paitient with me, but I hate to put them through all of the changes.
Now that I have come across this forum, I have fallen in love with the vbulletin BB. I will not renew by UBB, it is just too expensive. It appears to be resource friendly.
The question is this.
Can I use vbulletin in a shared environment with heavy usage? I can easily do about 20 to 30k pageviews per day. If not, what affordable dedicated solutions can I use?
Please help!
