I'm looking for a host offering unmetered bandwith - I found one awhile back but I cant seem to locate it - can anyone guide me in the correct direction?

Would you be talking about http://jvds.com/unmetered.php? If not, I'd still take a look.

FDCservers also offer unmetered transfer.

Rackforce (haven't tried them) (they have 1.5mbps capped)

I wouldn't really trust a VPS provider who claims unmetered bandwidth.

LOL - There are plenty of people that know web hosting very well and simply recently registered.

I'm curious, why don't you trust them? :)

JVDS and others list limits to their speeds. They clearly say that its limited to 10mbps and that you will get at least 512Kb/s. Over in the web hosting forum everybody seems to love saying that there is no such thing as unmetered, but when you get to servers and vps servers unmetered (but metered at the port) are very real and standard services.

That just seems like an unusual first post. We have a unlimited reseller account and its very unreliable (we're currently switching) so whenever I see unlimited or unmetered, I don't tend to believe them.

Doesn't your ISP give you unmetered transfer? (the one you are using to post to this forum).

There are quite a few differences between buying a server/vps or a reseller hosting account.

unmetered does not mean unlimited .. so why would you not trust a host with unmetered or unlimited ?

The majority of webhosts are honest, hard-working and reliable companies or individuals. I do not think the terms 'unmetered' or 'unlimited' would be a reason to distrust a host.

So, I am still asking why as I would like to understand your statetment.:)

BTW Bill Nathan, thought you may want to know, a link on your site is not working.

Unlimited bandwidth means that your host doesn't care how much transfer you use, and there's no peak. Unmetered means that the host allocated a specific amount of bandwidth (i.e. 10Mbps) instead of a GB amount. Unlimited isn't possible, unmetered is very possible.
