Hi there, DNS masters!

One question:

i) is it possible to host DNS with a third party (zoneedit, mydomain.com) when my hosting company sets folks up using virtual domains? My present host provides bulk space which I chop up as I see fit.... and while I understand how to set up a records to point at IPs, I don't know how this works for virutal hosts.

Thanks!

Neil

That should work fine, just enter the shared IP address in the DNS records just as you would a dedicated IP address.

It works. Helped one of our resellers set something like that up just the other day.

Zoneedit works for my Alabanza-based and NAC-based(Cpanel) vhost account(Shared IP). I don't think it will be a problem. Be carefully, some hosting companys don't allow you to use 3rd-party DNS services. If you register domain name with registerfly.com, you can also use their free DNS services.
