When choosing a web hosting company, which is more important to YOU?

Pmd7176 02-26-2002, 01:25 AM its really a cobination of price and the company not sucking. markblair 02-26-2002, 01:31 AM For me it has to be support. There is nothing worse than having a problem with your site and/or service and having to wait days for a reply. In some cases, the reply you get is only to let you know they are working on the issue. That shouldn't take days. Omni 02-26-2002, 01:32 AM Oops forgot to include Price... :( Can BC or Chicken help edit it...? Thanks Pmd7176, the company not sucking as in their reputation? (minutes...) markblair 02-26-2002, 01:51 AM Originally posted by Omni Markblair: what is the MAXIMUM time you are willing to wait for a support to be answered? I guess it all depends on the issue. I've experienced in the past issues that couldn't, no matter what was done, be resolved right away and as long as the host is up front and communicates that to the customer, then I have no problem waiting. There is a time when problems just simply need to be resolved or modifications like moving to another server need to be an option. I want to say a possible maximum of a week but again, it really all depends on the issue. For major server issues; a week. For minor issues like installing FrontPage extensions or password protecting directories (if the control panel doesn't do this); 24-48 hours MAX. The best support is the type you don't have to use, however. Walter 02-26-2002, 07:54 AM IMHO this depends. The newby goes for price, the profi for support. You have to make this error at least once to know it And there is a difference between hobby site and a site generating money.
