View Full Version : Problem
hostxpro 02-17-2005, 08:58 AM Hey all..
Im having a bit of a problem with a provider we have been using for the past 4/5 months.
We originally started off on a re-seller account at this company, their support etc has been great however last week we decided that we wanted to migrate to another provider to something which would suit our growing needs better.
I contacted the company in question to cancel our service and gave them the 30 days notice that they request in their TOS. However they seem to be ignoring my request. I have opened 7 tickets now over the space of 4-5 days and also emailed their billing dept.
I have basically tried everything in order to make my cancelation of this service and I am now under the impression that they are going to keep ignoring us.
We are even going to be making the final payment which is due within the 30 day notice period.
Any idea's on what to do?
~ Matt :)
S-Comm 02-17-2005, 09:02 AM Don't they have toll-free? Call them?
hostxpro 02-17-2005, 09:28 AM The only phone number I have been able to find dosnt work.

S-Comm 02-17-2005, 09:38 AM Ok so that you tried everything, you can write the company name here. They might have an account in this forum or somebody can assist you with that problem. What's the company?
hostxpro 02-17-2005, 09:39 AM CredibleHost
hostxpro 02-17-2005, 09:52 AM There support has been excellent throughout our stay with them, however since I have tried to cancel I havnt heard any confirmation..

S-Comm 02-17-2005, 10:17 AM I don't think they have a representative who's active here. I just did a simple search on CredibleHost, do one & you might find useful information to resolve this issue. I'm sorry for this.
hostxpro 02-17-2005, 10:18 AM Oh dont worry about it, you have been a good help
Thanks! :D

Gavin Miller 02-18-2005, 03:03 PM Make sure you follow their TOS when it comes to cancellations. They may have a specific procedure for you to follow. But it sounds like you might already be doing this.
Nullified 02-18-2005, 03:06 PM Why do you need to contact them anyways? You stated that you have already informed them 30 days in advance of the cancelation. Just take your things and leave...
hostxpro 02-18-2005, 03:14 PM I am following their TOS as stated on their website.
I have decided I am going to do this...
Pay for final 30 days service (when invoiced). Screen shot my requests for cancelation of service and print several copies.
Then just leave.

As a customer, I would want the assurance that my cancellation has been received and I will not be billed further. Of course I always keep documentation of my correspondence with companies when it relates to my accounts.
If you are sure you have followed their TOS to the letter and they still won't acknowledge, I would consider doing as Pimparsebish said and simply leave, but make sure you have records of your correspondence to keep it from coming back and nipping you in the butt.
Nullified 02-18-2005, 03:29 PM I understand the concerns you would have if you were the customer, but hostxpro's words indicated that he was manually paying for his hosting, rather then the company having his cc on file and automatically billing him, nor did he imply that he needed a refund. Therefore I simply suggested to leave as his business seemed to be done.

Sorry for the confusion -- I wasnt implying about a refund, but simply that if the company tried to argue that he hadn't followed cancellation procedures and was still accountable for the months he didn't pay he'd have this as evidence.
Nullified 02-18-2005, 03:59 PM Yes, that is true. I know you weren't implying that he was requesting one. I was just putting explaining why I acted why I did.
hostxpro 02-18-2005, 04:04 PM Thanks for your help!

BitterSweet 02-19-2005, 11:05 AM are you paying via CC or paypal? If you read their forum you will see they are rather slow and messy with cancellations, there are always cases of people who cancelled a while ago and still get invoices/charged in their CC so.. (and they blame paysystems of course)
if you pay via paypal: simply ignore the next invoice.
if it's CC, watch out and if they charge you after having cancelled, make a chargeback.
:)
hostxpro 02-19-2005, 11:55 AM When a company asks for 30 days notice, you have to make payments that are due within the 30 days notice.
Im more than happy to do that! Its just they refuse to confirm my cancelation.
~ Matt :)
BitterSweet 02-19-2005, 04:39 PM yes of course, I mean if they don't confirm the cancellation.. you should take it anyway from the day you asked for it, so if you asked for it on 10th Feb (just taking a date) 10th March your account should be closed and therefore you shouldn't be billed anymore from that date on.. :)
hostxpro 02-21-2005, 08:14 PM Finally given up, dont know what is going on with CredibleHost.
Even when I email their support email I get the following auto-reply.

Wow... A support mailbox full... That's something you don't see often. :D
hostxpro 02-21-2005, 08:24 PM It really is getting beyond a joke now.
At first I wasnt sure about saying what provider I was having these problems at but I need to know if anyone else is finding these problems with CredibleHost.

Nullified 02-21-2005, 08:41 PM If any email address for a company has a full box I'd consider that one hell of a sign in itself to move on.
NeoGen 02-21-2005, 10:23 PM There is some problem it seems, when I enter http://www.crediblehost.com/ I am gettin some mysql error for 1-2 seconds(see attached screen shot) then it goes on its own to http://www.crediblehost.com/index.html. Now here, I am surprised to see the "Current Specials" where is says "Offer good until Sept. 6, 2004" and is Labor Day sale with 50% off on reseller packages.
