from whm i found this:

Processor InformationProcessor #1 Vendor: GenuineIntel
Processor #1 Name: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 2.80GHz
Processor #1 speed: 2800.156 MHz
Processor #1 cache size: 512 KB

Processor #2 Vendor: GenuineIntel
Processor #2 Name: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 2.80GHz
Processor #2 speed: 2800.156 MHz
Processor #2 cache size: 512 KB

Processor #3 Vendor: GenuineIntel
Processor #3 Name: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 2.80GHz
Processor #3 speed: 2800.156 MHz
Processor #3 cache size: 512 KB

Processor #4 Vendor: GenuineIntel
Processor #4 Name: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 2.80GHz
Processor #4 speed: 2800.156 MHz
Processor #4 cache size: 512 KB

are these 4 processors in the same box?

No, they're 2 CPUs with Hyperthreading enabled.

What is hyperthreading? What are the advantages and disadvantages to it?

See http://www.intel.com/technology/hyperthread/

Plain english translation, a single processor will seem and behave like a dual processor if the software it is designed to take advantage of hperthreading.

Probably a really stupid question, but how can you tell that from what was posted by senior?

Agreed, it does not say Hyperthreading. However, most Dual Xeons are hyperthreaded and it is really unlikely for a host to have a Quad Xeon.

I agree that it is unlikely to have 4 processors in one server. While it is possible the cost dramatically goes up for the equipment and most software is designed for 1 or 2 processors so the cost of software shoots up also.

Most of the latest CPUs come out with a 1MB cache on the CPU.
and as listed below they only show 512 KB.

Processor #4 cache size: 512 KB

So my conclusion is that it is 2 CPUs with hyperthreading enabled

Ah, no need to ask... the newest innovation from Site5: we bring the support to you before you even write in. :D

I can confirm that the processors are, in fact, hyperthreaded dual Xeon processors.

Lucky guess, Bob. ;)
