View Full Version : I just need space

Yes, I'm one of those idiots who registered at HostOnce...

I already have some huge sites at a German server. But I wanted to expand. I asked my online buddies and they told me that HostOnce was really good. And I thought at that price I could take the risk...

I registered and me and some girls started a network (I asked HostOnce before if that was okay, 'cause they have something like 'no hosting' in their conditions.
The sites were up for about a week, when suddenly there was NOTHING there. I visited my site and all I saw was an orange screen with a link to HostOnce (which is still there: take a look (http://almost-perfect.net) ) I used their 'HelpDesk' and asked what was going on. Two days later they wrote something about abuse, nothing specific. And they told me that my account would not be re-activated on the UNIX server, but on the Windows server if I wanted them to. I replied to their mail. And I wrote four other mails during the last week - I got NO response. Nothing!

So, can anyone tell me how I can get rid of them and still have my domain???

Okay, the next thing is that I'm - now again - searching for another host. I don't need any special things, I just need space. I have two huge fansites and I have a lot of scanned pictures. But I don't have much traffic (yet  )
And, of course, we want to reopen our network as soon as possible. It was so embarrassing - the site was up for a week and now it's been down for two weeks :bawling:
I don't have a problem with paying a fair price, but I don't want to pay for all those extras (thousands of emails, mySQL, etc.) which I don't need...
Has anyone a good idea???

I read all those threads about the different webhosting plans and everything and now I'm even more confused than I was before :bawling:

Hiya,

I'd say you'd be better off posting in the Webhosting Requests forum and stating like you need:

- at least 300MB
- 6GB bandwidth
- 3 POP emails
- ....

well, you need to alter that to what you think you need. Maybe it's even good to post a maximum price you're willing to pay.
