This is a hypothetical offering. We would like some feedback on whether this would generate some excitement:

UK dedicated server
Quality data centre, usual specs.
Multi-homed to 3 backbones

Red Hat 7.2
Celeron 900Mhz
128 MB ram
20GB IDE
10 GB/month included

No control panels, just plain root access via SSH.

£75 per month, £150 set-up.
+VAT (17.5%)

Additional bandwidth £2 per GB.

No frills service - host is only responsible for hardware and connectivity. Customer must be competent running a server.

If that doesn't excite you - what would you consider a bargain?

Yes, that sounds like a good deal for the UK. The no frills aspect is a bit concerning tho, as most us-based ded server people are very good at handholding.

The 10Gb/mo is quite low, and I think I'd want a bare min of 256Mb ram, probly 512Mb.

Any control panel?

(This is just an opinion -- I'm not looking at the moment!)

From my point of view, there would be a larger demand for something like a P3 1Ghz, 512Mb of RAM, 40Gb IDE for around the £150 / Month fee - if you could offer that sort of pricing.

£2 per Gb sounds good, and I think you would also get more interest were you to offer discounts on control panels..

Good luck,
Matt
