Hiya because there is so many requests for free Webhosting CP's i thought i would make this post so constribute :) and see what we come up with. These are the few i know.

I'm sure this will come to of help to people. Web-cp is my personal favorite. I just started popping it on my dedicated servers, and it works like a charm! Webmin works nice too, but not for webhosting.

Might want to add wich cpanel's include a billing and / or a signup module

YEa i just installed Web://CP hosting a few sites on it its really good :D

You are missing many of the free control panels in your list like nxpanel, inspanel, and several others I remember reading about on the forums. Oh and as far as I know, Bankio isn't free. They just have a semi-stable beta out for Linux right now.

Bankio is free dude! i installed it on Redhat 9.0 Quite a while back and it messed all the Sendmail Settings up and stuff...

Setup Seems a little hard and not very explantry!

Its worth giving it a go but i recommend you backup all your configureations and files before hand onto a second hard disk or another Server.

Sounds like your running illegally then per Bankio's web site as a copy of it is 150 USD.

That's a beta for linux. It's marked as semi-stable and once a final release is produced, there will be no updates or support for the control panel. Bankio was originally designed for Windows.

YEa i kno that it was coded for windows... Reading of the forums its not very sucsessful on Redhat 9.0

Anyone tried using Web://Cp its a really good CP! you have to have Linux on the brain though to set it up cause you get a few little errors but persons who dont know linux will get very stuck!

Anyone tried it?

Trying to rip off cPanel? I hope you plan to support the reasons people use Windows to host like IIS and ASP because all I've seen so far is Apache and PHP support. Either way, best of luck with the project.

this control panel does NOT intends to be a cPanel clone for windows !
In fact , it has nothing to do with cPanel ! the icons are a free icon set
downloaded from www.fauxs-x.com (so i am ok here too) and the colors
are original :P ... maybe this SKIN looks like cPanel ... but that's something
else . i also saw cPanel skins that look like plesk so let's not confuse
things ! it's not a rip !

BTW , no iis and asp (crap) ... apache and php ;)

Not bashing you or anything but that's basically a useles control panel then. If that's all a person wants, they don't host on Windows. And if those are original graphics and such, then I'm Uncle Sam. :)

yeah ... guess what ! the header is not made by me ! (modified by me

IMHO, your tool is very close to the design of CPanel, with a big menu on the left, on ALL the screens of your software, even on root admin side. I don't know if it's intentionnal, but it realy has the same look and feel, which I personaly hate. But it seems a lot of people like it...

Could you tell here why ? Did you use CPanel and then wanted to do something similar ?

My panel does NOT look like CPanel, simply because when writting my tools, I didn't look at others. I never saw one panel other than mine genrating the user PNG menu images in PHP, for example. I only did it recently, and saw they where all looking the same, more or less... with that BIIIIG menu on the left for navigation! You can say my panel is hugly (I don't have the time to focus on gfx), but at least it's not a clone in therms of user interface. I'm sure it's possible to be a bit more inovating...

By the way, I think it's a shame you and me are working on different projects... there is enough work on only one opensource panel!!!

another one that should be added to the list yes i know the install instructions have not been updated to the latest versions of the server software but someone that is a experienced server admin should be able to install.

Dont take it to heart, i just found the similarities amusing!

Cpanel users are free to change the skin (if your a reseller or higher) so there really is no big deal! Its a good idea in itself, keep up the good work!

If you launch professionally or charge for the software, I wouldn't be surprised if cPanel's lawyers didn't have a problem understanding...maybe they can explain the difference.

hahaha ... cPanel lawyers . they need reasons to sue me and belive me,
not even cPanel has copyright oin colors , ideas , html tags etc. ...
the icon is a free set , the skin has a different name and the graphics
are made by me , except the header witch ... guess : it doesn't belongs
to cpanel . sorry but they can't sue me .
anyway , let's forget about it ... just wait untill it will be released and enjoy
using it !
