Hello,

I am totally new here and prolly have a dumb question. But, what would one have to do to start a webhost. I mean more legally than technically. I live in Pennsylvania in the US. I know how to technically do it but not sure about the legal stuff. Like since it is a business, what papers do I need to file, how does this change my taxes, etc....?

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

Jim

You are not alone. I started not long ago and I'm still looking for good advice. Maybe the other reseller don't want to share their secrets. By the way I'm from TX. Any information would really help both of us.

I know that texas has a lot of laws and tazes you have to follow.

Call your City and Sec. of State - tell them what you'll be selling (service only, people get no hardware) - and they should be able to tell you what you need.

Main thing is to report all the money made to the IRS so you don't get in trouble w/ them - yeah, you'll have to write them a check once a year, but hey, I'd rather do that then spend a year with Bubba.
