I am currently running win2000 on my office PC. Does anyone know where emails stored with outlook express. I need to backup entire email folder but I am unable to find it

Have a look under Tools / Options - click on the Maintenace tab.

It says something like 'stored folder'.

Whatever the default is most likely.

You can also right-click on the folder's name and choose 'Properties'. You will get the full path of the file. Note that each folder in Outlook Express is contained in one file.

I'm not sure if its important, but I always compact the folder before I back it up. To compact a folder, choose the folder from the left pan and then choose File -> Folder -> Compact. You can also directly choose File -> Folder -> Compact All Folders to compact all your folders.

also, the extension of the files in which the emails are stored is .dbx. If you do a search for *.dbx, you will find them. You can then do what you like with them.
