View Full Version : RaQ3 inaccessible WAN IP

Greetings,

I've recently purchased a RaQ 3 server which I’ve received through the post and fired up this morning.

Since then I’ve stumbled upon a small problem which I’m sure how to rectify, as you can see from the diagram I’ve attached to this post I’m connected to the internet through a Linksys wireless router (wireless isn't an issue in this case since it's not used).

The WAN IP (62.190.xxx.xxx) is then split through the LAN to it's respective destinations, one of which is 192.168.1.102 (The RAQ). Port forwarding on the router is port 80 (which routes to 102) - I’ve also tried using the DMZ on 102.

My main machine is 192.168.1.100 and I can access
92.168.1.102 perfectly through Internet Explorer (I see the 'Welcome to Cobalt RaQ 3' default page).

However... if I attempt to connect to 62.190.xxx.xxx (through IE) I get a page can not be displayed message (this also happens outside my network since I’ve had a friend test the address).

If anyone has any solutions to this I would be extremely grateful!

Maybe your ISP blocks port 80? Have you tried it on another port or have you tried to host a apache server on a PC or something?

Yep i've used apache (and IIS) before through port 80, the website configuration (inside RaQ) is 192.168.1.102 - maybe this should be the WAN ip?

Could the DNS addresses affect this? I've also not purchased a domain yet but surely i'd be able to access it by IP for testing?

Many thanks,

Your router would use Port80 for its own login screen I think.
Have you forwarded port80 to the server?

Like what BluTechnolog
said try frwarding something else like 8080 and then test with 62.190.xxx.xxx:8080 to see if you get anything.

Because this seems like a problem with the network connection to the server and not the server itself since the local LAN can run fine.

Some ISPs do blockout certain ports to limit people from hosting webservers on residiential lines.

Also I have experiences that when I did not set the DNS properly on the RaQ, nothing goes through for FTP, telnet or SSH either. Maybe you would like to check on that too.

The routers web based administration is actually on port 8080 but it's disabled - i've used IIS from a laptop recently through port 80 (not using anymore) and it's worked fine which makes me wonders if its something to do with the configuration of the RaQ :(.

if ur trying to look at this site from the same net connection, then u probs wont be able to see anything because loopback wont work...

try doin it from someone elses connection or if u can't do that, try doin it through a proxy of some sort

I think the problem might be that you may have

1. your subnet set wrong or
2. you have not set the default gateway on the raq
