Corey Bryant 02-14-2005, 09:18 AM Well with Propay, you have some limitations on what you can purchase. And it looks like for almost no limitations, they are pretty expensive. With you being in the United States, a merchant account is basically next to nothing to get started. If you expect to process more than $1,000 a month - consider a merchant account. If you do not want some of those limits by Propay - consider 2CO a1nerd 02-14-2005, 02:09 PM What limitations? Corey Bryant 02-14-2005, 05:30 PM Check out ProPay Account Details (http://www.propay.com/cgi/appProcess1.exe/tier_detail) emzec 02-14-2005, 06:07 PM Can you automate propay? Lime with whmap or modernbill? S-Comm 02-14-2005, 10:10 PM If you don't want to spend cash, your better chance is getting a free account from propay or others. But as Corey said, it's very limited. These free accounts will provide you with card processing while limiting amunt per transaction, withdrawal, sales per month, so on. So If you think your $49 is worth sigining up at 2CO, you can do this. Otherwise, Sign up with ProPay. Good Luck! Anky 02-14-2005, 10:39 PM If you're being swayed away because of the $49 setup fee, let me tell you, it's nothing once customers start coming in! MojoServer 02-14-2005, 10:52 PM 2checkout is awesome... they will monitor fraud for you, though you should do so on your own regardless. If you have authorize.net and the fraud payers get through, itll obviously hurt your business. The $50 setup is worth it. - and the 5.5% merchant fees. FunkyFrog 02-16-2005, 02:31 PM I don't find 2CO awesome at all. You have to wait 2 weeks for funds to be released to you, and they have not even been releasing mine at all. And my banking details are correct, so there is no excuse. I have not seen a single cent from them in over 5 months. All my funds are just sitting there in my account balance. And support does not exactly respond at the speed of light either. They are not the best solution IMO. a1nerd 02-16-2005, 04:57 PM So basically they froze your account? What was the reason did they say? How much is on hold with them? Originally posted by FunkyFrog I don't find 2CO awesome at all. Emails can take days to get any response. kelvinklay 02-16-2005, 07:03 PM yeah try 2checkout. FunkyFrog 02-16-2005, 07:14 PM Originally posted by a1nerd So basically they froze your account? What was the reason did they say? How much is on hold with them? Nah, they did not freeze my account. All it says is: Funds are held in your account for the following reasons: 1) Your banking details are incorrect 2) Your sales for the last payment cycle exceeded your reserve level so the funds are being held until next payment cycle. 3) You are an international customer and the dollar value did not exceed the release level set. NONE of this is applicable. There is not all that much money here as only two or three cusomers have opted to pay via credit card. Almost all use paypal. It's less than $200. I'd still like to have it though. Looking closer I see that there has been a recurring chage for $7.99 since January of last year and NONE of that has ever hit my bank account either. Don't know what's going on with this, but I will not be using them anymore. I am now kicking myself for cancelling my merchant account. I cancelled that for the reason I stated above, nobody was using it and I was paying $40 monthly for it. TomD 02-17-2005, 09:30 AM Funky, There is a problem with your banking details. The account template shows that notice was sent to you on this issue. Please contact the 2CO payments department thru the ticket system. WHRKit 02-17-2005, 10:03 AM I am using 2CO since 2002. Not very extensively but on a regular base and have been Ok with them. Small problems every once in a while but nothing that I would say it is a showstopper. It's a viable solution to get you started before you have enough volume for your own merchant account. submenu 02-17-2005, 10:53 PM Whats nice about 2checkout is you don't have to store credit card details on your own server. |
