FutureQuest, Inc. is currently offering extra disk space with each full package at no extra charge. For those that understand the importance of Value vs. Price this deal is sweet!

Search these forums for opinions about FutureQuest.net and then visit http://www.FutureQuest.net/Coupons/ for the complete details.

Thanks!

just curious, your site indicates that every single website gets a dedicated ip, i find that very difficult to believe (ESP with the way ARIN is being so dilligent about taking away people's ip spacing for ip based hosting where it's not required), is this a oversight on your website, or do you actually do this?! Aside from your packages being very pricy (look around this board) your site is quite nice :)

FutureQuest is worth every cent and more, if you can afford it.

As far as I know all new packages get a dedicated IP.
FutureQuest really is a fantastic host.

Yes, every new full package receives a dedicated IP number. It was not an oversight.

FutureQuest owns and operates all of its equipment/lines/servers/exclusive control panel etc which again adds to the value... FutureQuest's prices are quite honest and realistic in nature. You'll note we do not share in the same practices as many "around this board" by not overselling or undercutting our services and we employ a full staff to ensure this fact. When you need everything that is advertised we believe you should get it but of course that type of service does come at a higher cost hence, Price vs. Value is a big deal to the FutureQuest Site Owners. By visiting our Community Forums (which we leave open to the public) you'll find that the Site Owners best suited for FutureQuest are those that understand the value and rely on quality beyond the norm. 100% uptime etc is not abnormal for the FutureQuest Servers so for those who depend on their host it's a great deal indeed :)

Thanks for the kudos on the design!

Ahh, i wasn't in any way implying it's not worth the $$$ :), i just thought it was funny that it was openly advertised that everyone gets their own dedicated ip when ARIN and most uplink will scold you bigtime for not doing name based hosting whenever possible, thats all :D

FutureQuest was one of the first hosts to use the HTTP/1.1 protocol (shared IPs) and we excelled at it ;) It is still in use by many of our original client base. I'll never forget successfully hosting over 200 accounts on one IP -- I'll also never forget the complaints from Site Owners that wanted dedicated IPs and the ribbing we took from other hosts that offered them...ugh. (1998-2000)

Now, I see the trend has finally reached many of those hosts and we're hearing it in the opposite direction LOL. However we worked extra hard to obtain the IPs and are now working on obtaining our own /19 (IPv4 and IPv6) directly from Arin. Additionally we pay the "big bucks" to our upstreams which provide the IPs that we do have.

Remember that FutureQuest is not paying for a "shared DS-3" or using the high-speed lines of a collocation provider. We do in fact have multiple DS-3s of our own and those come with many IPs for which we have successfully justified our IP allocations and we use them accordingly while providing the extra 'perk' to the Site Owners that have chosen FutureQuest.

Deb, I'm sorry to do this to your post, but this can't go on any longer. Hey porcupine, there are rules on this forum which you possibly overlooked. I'm surpised no one has come down on you sooner, since you reply to a majority of these threads, often knocking your competition and their offers in one way shape or form. I've stayed quiet for a long time, but it's just not right. You obviously aren't in the market for a hosting account, so you really should not reply to these offers. If you have a genuine question then I recommend that you e-mail/ICQ/PM/AIM the host or the person offering the deal. Don't try to find faults with a majority of your competitions deals, as it is not professional. I would have sent you an e-mail about this, but I feel that this has gone on way to long unnoticed, and I think that WHT needs to crack down on this crap.

BTW Deb, nice offer.

Insiderhosting: Are you some sort of idiot? I was commenting on the fact i was impressed that deb was able to pull that off, and then stated that i liked his site design. I'm not sure how you see this as malicious, i know how much trouble a lot of people have in getting IP addresses justified, hence why i asked, it's impressive no less that Deb gets enough IP addresses to do this, and if he can pull it, all the power to him, maybe it'll make ARIN revoke it's /8 that it's given to NASA or something smart! I'm not sure which of the forum rules you think im breaking, and you're right, i have no intention of buying any of debs packages, i was just curious as to how he did it.

Because I've seen porcupine attacked twice this hour, I thought I should reply. As a customer not a host, I personally appreciate porcupine's comments. In both cases he simply asked a question which I found to be very on topic, and I appreciated the input from someone who has been around for a while. I am currently a FutureQuest customer and love every single thing about FutureQuest - they have given me great service and their servers are very fast and excellent, and their support time is usually 15 minutes even at 5 AM, and on and on and on. They are the best host I have ever had. If I thought FutureQuest was being attacked in fact, I would do about anything to stand up for them.

What I saw from porcupine though was simply a question. In another thread someone listed a dedicated server with a 40 GB SCSI drive. A couple of us questioned whether it was a SCSI drive at that capacity, and after several statements that it was a SCSI drive, it turned out that it wasn't. No big deal, but it would have been if I had bought that server and didn't get what was being advertised. One of the things about these forums that is great is that when deals are posted, lots of questions are asked. The questions help explain the offer and reveal information which may have been left out or even misstated. And they help show whether a host can backup their statements and the quality of support you are likely to get from them. Other sites which offer only advertising where no one can ask a question are pretty worthless. Also I was just wondering myself whether I would be able to host IP based sites on the dedicated server I will be getting soon, or whether I won't be able to justify the IP's to do this.

BTW, just to make this a little on topic, you won’t go wrong with FutureQuest. I would not even consider getting a package elsewhere except for the fact that I may be doing something shortly which requires more bandwidth than I can afford at FutureQuest, and I have an urge to learn more about running a dedicated server. It will be difficult though because I have been so spoiled by 100% uptime and the best service I have ever received in my life while I have been at FutureQuest. Also on topic is that even if I get a dedicated server in the next month, I like FutureQuest so much that I will be leaving/renewing the majority of my accounts there even though I could host them for free myself.

P.S.: porcupine: you mean she

 hahaha thanks panopticon, but i'm not a *she*. I hope Deb didn't feel attacked, but i seriously wasn't going after Deb, I should prolly ask for pointers (on how to become an ip whure), because look around at hosts, it's a sought after skill (ARIN can be very very ... uh, uncooperative when it comes to IP allocating), and Deb clearly is very fortunate to be able to pull it off. BTW, when i'm picking at a host, it's not hard to tell, search for "onthecatwalks", i picked that host apart, and i was totally right in the end, the guy was selling ded servers off his cable modem (in disguise).

Ok, I'll keep this short as my original post was intended to share the fact the FutureQuest is currently offering free extra disk space but there are just a couple of things I'd like to clarify... Insiderhosting: Are you some sort of idiot? Puullleeesseeee hold the name calling and/or "implied" name calling as it's really not needed. I do see where Insiderhosting derived the opinion posted and I think you could've clarified your stance w/o using that terminology. P.S.: porcupine: you mean she hahaha thanks panopticon, but i'm not a *she* Hehe but *I* am a SHE -- though I am not an "ip whure"

Ooops, sorry Deb....

Lost my patience with insider, just 2 ppl attacking me at once was getting on my nerves. Didn't realise you were a she, the "ip whure" comment is meant with greatest respect, no disrespect meant in that manner, i guess i need to stop chatting on IRC, their traditional sayings (in this instance, the ability to gather resources faster/easier then others) are sometimes misunderstood by people who aren't familiar with them, or thought to be offensive :D. Anyhow, sorry for polluting your thread like this, didn't mean for that to happen heh :)
