View Full Version : Dont you think they are charging way too much?
royharyanto 02-24-2002, 03:53 PM Guys take a look at this page.
I nearly flipped when I see their pricing scheme.
Makes me wonder if their servers are gold plated.
www.xela.ltd.uk/control.php
diederik 02-24-2002, 04:01 PM 10Mb webspace on our webserver with FTP access. Includes PHP scripting capability and SSI support on request. CGI-BIN access is also included. 250Mb of data transfer per month included.
250 MB data transfer per month... lol :D:confused:
microsol 02-24-2002, 04:07 PM This one is even better:
Additional 100Mb of data transfer on the virtual server. Payable if your virtual server recorded data transfer goes over its initial 250Mb allocation.
£10+vat
 :dunce:
Jedito 02-24-2002, 04:10 PM 10 pounds for extra 100 MB bandwidht:eek:
jonny b 02-24-2002, 04:36 PM wow...now that has to be the highest price for transfer i've ever seen.....i've seen hosts charge £ 30 / GB but £ 100?? lol......
avara 02-24-2002, 04:38 PM OMG!
OMG !
Does anyone actually buy with these people?
bigmattyh 02-24-2002, 05:22 PM With their prices, I'd be paying about $5000/month for my service.
Also, this is funny:
Includes PHP scripting capability and SSI support on request.
Pilgrim 02-24-2002, 05:28 PM Where are all the people now that always yell "you get what you pay for"? :D
I suppose if you pay this kind of money you get A LOT ;)
This must be true quality bandwidth. They'll probably lay new cable in the ground directly from your server to each new customer that signs up
and a .com domain costs 25 pounds a year...this is more than netsol charges...incredible but true:eek:
Equilibrium 02-24-2002, 05:52 PM Ha Ha Ha
:D
"I nearly flipped when I see their pricing scheme"
I Laughed when I saw their pricing scheme

"You get what you pay for" is a general rule, and not a replacement for common sense. ;)
JBIZ718 02-24-2002, 06:17 PM There is nothing wrong with there pricing.
If you dont like it then dont use them.
Joe
Incognito 02-24-2002, 06:19 PM But are they collecting those prices...if so, I am envious of their business acumen.
AussieHosts 02-24-2002, 08:21 PM They're cheaper than Australia's biggest host:

microsol 02-24-2002, 08:28 PM Find out what makes us Australia's leading web hosting company.
Paul-UKWSD 02-24-2002, 08:44 PM The worst thing is that you will get people who do not know better and will pay these prices....shocking.
Incognito 02-24-2002, 08:52 PM Just so I can one time charge such prices.
bigmattyh 02-24-2002, 09:43 PM Keep in mind though, that the Australian dollar is worth about half of one American dollar.
coight 02-24-2002, 11:21 PM And all data transfer costs 20 cents per mb here.
AussieHosts 02-24-2002, 11:38 PM Not quite Rob...and definitely not in the direction WC are charging for it. :-)
Gary
royharyanto 02-25-2002, 01:41 AM I wouldnt be surprised if giant hosts like Verio and such charges that amount but from the impression of the website it just doesnt give me the impression that they have direct fiber optic line connected to their servers.

royharyanto 02-25-2002, 01:50 AM Sometimes you DONT get what you pay for.
This is when people decided to drastically overcharge their products.
If someone tries to make you buy his/her Pentium 1 processor for US$500 will you buy it? But the sad thing about webhosting is many unwary customers DO get conned for drastically overpriced hosting services.
