View Full Version : Tell me is it good or not?
GizmoPhreak 02-10-2005, 04:06 AM Hello Everybody.
Im a newbie in all this hosting stuff.
Im planning to make a new website.
I want a hosting in which there are all the possibilities and is cheap.
I saw:
http-://mongohosting.-com-/-reseller_specs.-htm
[Remove the Dashes (-)]
Tell me is it good or bad or is it a reliable host?
Or if anybody know any better host than mongohosting.com or cheaper than this with better features then please tell me.

What you can do is go through the 'Shared and Reseller Offers' section of this forum. If there is a deal that catches your eye you can send off a couple emails to them, basically to test the responsiveness of their support. If that goes well, then you can also search here to see if there are any reviews on them.
IMeanWebHosting 02-11-2005, 03:48 PM Holy Jesus! They only charge $30 for a 50 GB diskspace reseller?! Biggest hard drive I've seen on a server was 200, and it was a lot more than $120 for that server... I'm not sure if this place will last with prices like that. I thought my prices were low.
joshuayip 02-11-2005, 04:52 PM Big time overselling. Probably that is why they are down so often

ldcdc 02-11-2005, 07:49 PM In all honesty, that price/space ratio simply boggles my mind.
layer0 02-11-2005, 11:06 PM Sounds like the usual overselling host that has lots of downtime and sinks in a matter of a few months. If you are looking for a good host choose a company then research it at WHT and see if the reviews are good or bad.
IMeanWebHosting 02-12-2005, 09:08 AM Agreed, be sure to check up on hosts. Also, try your hardest to find one that charges monthly. Worst thing in the world is paying $100 for a year of hosting, and then being screwed when they go out of business in 2 weeks.
camers 02-13-2005, 10:38 AM I liked how they use minimum 1.7GHZ servers..
NS-Addict 02-13-2005, 01:29 PM Hmmm,
Sounds like overselling going on there, I would suggest that you be very careful on choosing a host, all I can say is that, do your research in a host before you decide to go with them.
Good Luck
amghosting 02-13-2005, 01:38 PM They don't take orders anymore, and yes I really belive they are overselling, with their prices I assume they will be out from hosting industry in less than 1 year.
Here is something from their order page:
We thank you for your interest in hosting your Website with MongoHosting. So better have a stable host than a cheap one that will go down one or two hours per day or ... more :P
GizmoPhreak 02-14-2005, 03:16 PM Is there any way how I can buy my own server and I manage it all by myself?
I have 24/7 power backup.
amghosting 02-14-2005, 03:28 PM I think it's better to go with a hosting company, managing your own server it's not so easy at it seems, updates and patches need to be applied immediately and you must have a lot of experience in server security otherwise your server will be down 6 days per week.
Try a managed dedicated server, a lot of providers offer them ;)
