Jay Suds 02-24-2002, 09:14 PM I open up a command prompt in Windows and type in: tracert [enter IP address or domain name server] (don't actually type the brackets) I also use Ping Plotter (enough to pay for it), which is availabe from www.pingplotter.com. Hope this is the info you were looking for. Rochen 02-24-2002, 09:20 PM Originally posted by puggy106 which program do you guys use to test the no. hops etc.? McAfee NeoTrace Professional 3.25 See: http://mcafeestore.beyond.com/Product/0,1057,3-18-SN107878,00.html It does trace routes, pings, whois, tells you the NOC information, gives you a nice map of the world and draws lines of where the connections goes, gives you maps and satellite images of each hop (within the US) and a few other things. I think they give a 30 day trial. If you buy it it's only $29.95 USD. cyansmoker 02-24-2002, 09:55 PM Originally posted by Jay Suds Acks! I hope you're not paying for this hosting. Well, 'whois -h whois.apnic.net 210.192.102.83' shows that this server is in Hong-Kong, or at least in China, so I guess we should expect some latency. debris 02-24-2002, 11:57 PM About 10 seconds for everything to load on my 56K modem.
