I'll be taking part in the world's longest ice hockey game, with all proceeds going to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation in Canada.
The problem is, how do I setup a server from Webkore to be able to stream live video, or delayed video? The Guiness people will have to view it, and whoever else is interested in it.
Right now, the servers are configured for webhosting...no live feed (or streaming) stuff. There's alot of space and bandwith leftover on them so it IS doable bandwith/ressource-wise
But this is out of my field of knowledge, I never was interested in streaming before.
Any help?
Thanks,
Anthony

Sorry this isn't going to help you, but I'm curious.
Exactly how long will the world's longest ice hockey game be? 12 hours? 24 hours? How many players are involved?
Sounds very interesting :)

215 hours is our goal. Around 8 days and 10 hours/11 hours.
All NHL rules apply :)
The way it's setup is 4 shifts a day, 2 hour shifts. Nonstop game, so we're about 40 people in total. It's gonna be fun :D

You should contact your hosting company first to make sure they will support it. If so, break it up in segments. Maybe by hour or something. That way - if something happens at a particular time, the people will be able to see it. You can stream one file - but no matter what compression you use, that is going to be one big file

Go install the darwin streaming server, and I believe you can get some freebie licenses for the content generation streamer.

Sorry this will not help either but I want to thank you for this :) my father has multiple sclerosis.
My pleasure.
Except now we'll have to go 245 hours, since some other people are currently in day 3 going for 240 hours!
