How do you manage your users offline?

I mean to see what users owe you in terms of payment.
How do you remind yourself when a user has to pay you next?
You don't go through records one by one do you (i hope not).
Do you get alerted (if using programs/databases) when a user has to make payment again.

What do you use?
Programs, databases? Are they free, where can i get them from etc?

Any feedback appreciated.
Thanks:)

I'll admit it -- I'm low tech :D

I keep some info in an Excel spreadsheet. Just the basic info: client name, billing date, that's pretty much it. I sort it and check it every day or every other day. I don't keep everything there; just enough to remind me to bill people; then I look up their info in our fancy-schmancy database.

I'm gonna guess that on this tech-happy board, I'm not the typical billing person :uhh: but I had to answer you since it seems no-one else is :)

There are several hosting products available including Modern Bill, Ubersmith, and PhpManager. In addition, offline you can set up recurring invoicing in Quickbooks or Peachtree or most other accounting software.
