OK. I did a bit of hunting around here, and emailed a few of the prospective hosts for a reseller account. I looked at varhosting, hostinglite, and Site5 as well.

For value for money, and features, varhosting & hostinglite are hard to beat, with varhostings $9.95/mth deal catching me. My specific need was for an SSL cert of my chosing (self issue, or by a CA) to be installed, and both offered this free (in fact I think you can do it yourself with varhosting). You do of course need a permanent IP for SSL, and they offer this at $1 and 2$ per month respectively.

I have just signed up with varhosting and their response to my initial 2 tickets has been excellent. I'll try to follow up on this thread to complete the experience in 3-6 months time.

Until then, I'll give surfspeedy the boot. They had a massive DNS outage that saw my site offline for 5 days, plus frequent small periods of downtime after that, not to mention the trouble to get an SSL certificate installed...

I guess you get what you pay for, but It appears alot of these hosts don't realise that customers base their experiences on their budget entry point, and move up from there...

Cheers!
