Elite Hosts, Inc and SpyderInternet are ready to release an open source Linux-based control panel (based on the Cobalt Raq - ew) and billing software!

We need YOUR help. We are currently in search of testers, to test beta software and developers to help us write the software.

We currently, have all the code ready, however we need testers and a handful of developers to help with some final things.

The control panel currently has a user-interface similar to the Cobalt's (because it was based off the cobalt), but we are looking for the help of the web-hosting community to help us create a portable, open source, feature rich control panel.

Our billing software is simple and portable. Just perl scripts and MySQL. It has no security features in place, it assumes you are running the software on a standalone secure, machine (Windows, Linux, Unix anything)... no auto-billing, but it does have recurring cycles, and places to store billing items, payments, credit card info, customer information etc.... but we need YOUR help to develop this product

How much of the control panel is actually complete?

The whole end user interface and alot of the admin - An end-user demo is at http://www.elitehosts.com/cpdemo
Some stuff you can't see is nigthly Webalizer stats generated, access to raw logs and RESELLER ABILITY for a site to "own" another site - get into the control panel with their username/pw

This is only a first version to bring a basic free cp, we need everyone to help us bring out better versions!

If you are all up for paying hundreds of dollards for CPs, go ahead, otherwise come and help us.

This project wont work without you.

Yes, we have seen it.

However, it is not documented, and hard to install - with lack of support from the community.

We hope to surpass it with everyones help and more features.

Thank you all for emailing us. Just to specify, we need PERL programmers, - sorry PHP guys.

Its not easy to find people to help for free here. Many people wanted to start free control panels but did not find much support. You may want to try to go on sourceforge.net and post your project. You may find better support there.

Got 2 developers (which totals 4) and 1 design offer so far. Still working on it :)


We also need people to TEST software, not even write it.
