If you had your choice right now, who would you do?

MCHost or;
Splashost

What do you mean "who would you do?"

Ya know, who would you sign up for if you had a choice between just those two

As far I am concerned Alan has done nothing wrong so I will stay with Splashhost. If I was not with them already then I would still choose Splashhost over MC Host..

Of course...doing one of them has a very different connotation here than I think you mean.

Seems to me they are doing each other right now.

If I had just found WHT today, I'd probably say *frell* to both of them and look for a third party.....
....hmmm makes you wonder, huh? Maybe we should be on the look out for any new VPN companies that rush in wearing white hats?

Cheers

=)

Who would you do, hehehe its from the Don and Mike radio show out of VA

The professionalism MCHost has shown continues to, and has won in my book.

If I had to choose one company or the other to do business with, I'd choose MCHost.

As far as I'm concerned, MCHost has done nothing wrong here: While I'm willing to accept the evidence that someone with access to one of their systems was responsible, I have yet to see any evidence that anyone from MCHost was responsible.

At the same time, it is clear that SplashHost has acted wrongly, by bringing these allegations forth in such a manner.

Another consideration is that the ease with which the attacks were conducted says little good about SplashHost's configuration -- but that's a common fault and I'm willing to overlook that for now. (I do, however, still think that the first priority should be given to fixing the security issues rather than to launching a public attack against the party believed to be responsible.)

Good points, and is why I voted for MCHost.

MCHost has not been tarnished today, in fact mchost has proven its integrity.

That is what Splashost did not count on.

Their customers (MCHost's) are loyal, for a reason..

I'd like to step into this thread before it turns into a flaming on any side. Both MCHost and SplashHost are good companies (Chicken, feel free to edit) with good reputations and anyone can make mistakes.

Although many of us have observed both over a long period of time, the unfortunate fact is that most people trying to decide at this moment and seeing them for the first time would use neither, but would choose another host instead. And, that is very unfair to at least one of them, if not both, depending on the true facts.

Accusations have been made in both directions and, accusations, whether true of false, always cause harm to reputations. Generally, they cause harm to the reputations of both parties.

So, while we might sit and decide who we believe and who we would use, the average person would just throw up their hands, say I don't know who to believe, and choose another host.

I'm locking down two of the off-shoot threads for now. One is hard enough to manage.
