AVG (google it) is very good (free for non profit use). i would also recommend using the windows firewall (control panel/firewall) and only open the ports needed. Kiamori 02-13-2005, 05:20 PM Add admin and system, remove the everyone account for all drives. Disable services: Automatic Updates Background Intelligent Transfer Service Messenger Remote Registry Service DHCP Client(unless you use dhcp) TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper Service Remove the admin shares for C$ http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;318751 this would be a start, everything else depends on how secure you want this server, what ports you need open and what type of firewall you are using. And of course do security updates as often as you can. MikeM 04-03-2005, 03:31 PM In addition, run the Microsoft Baseline Security anylyzer and the IIS lockdown tool. Keep your system updated with all service packs and MS updates |
