Due to my day job now forcing me to travel extensively I can no longer provide the level of support my customers expect so I am going to sell the company / or customers and get out of the business . I have been in business for just over 3 yrs and have 300 customers , some of which are on their 3rd renewal for annual pay .

Customer breakdown is :

60 monthly pay (payments range from $4.95 - $15.95
240 annual pay payments range from $49.99 - $169.99
Current growth average is about 4 new websites a week .
I have registered over 100 domains that will also generate money when renewal time comes . I have fully automated the purchase system so it allows a purchase to occur with no intervention from me and creates both the website and the welcome / login info letter then emails it to both me and the new client .
I realize most of you are going to be simply interested in the customers , not the business itself and I will split the two if needed . The recurring billing is handled automatically by my software everyday though authorize.net .

All customers are located on one leased server through VenturesOnline , in case you are interested in taking over the whole business . Ventures Online has been an excellent upstream provider to me for over a year , I would strongly recommend them to anyone !
PS I have no interest in screwing my clients , so if you are a fly by night operation please do not bother me with questions . I want my clients to be cared for the same way I have taken care of them for the last 3 years .

Any questions please email me at dhurd@ameritech.net

I am attaching a small excel file that shows the last three months of business . I will generate one that goes back 12 months tomorrow . Basically it grosses about $2000 a month . The current server payment is $350 and I do sometimes exceed the bandwidth limits (50 gig) but I charge the offending sites $5.50 per gig over .
I also have one site (a radio station) $170 a mo for up to 25 gigs but they have never come even close to that much , they usually use less than 5 gigs .
The website is fully automated and performs real time transactions including setting up the new account on the server and sending the new client a login welcome letter .
I average about 6 or 7 support requests per day during the week and less on weekends . Support is strictly via email .
I am a sole proprietorship owner .
The main website I sell through gets about 1200 hits per day .

I am getting a lot of people asking how much I want for it , honestly I don't know what it is worth . It grosses about 24k per year , if it was a brick and mortar biz it should sell for about
80 % of that , however it is a internet biz and I'm sure it would command near that much .

Does $5000 sound like too much ?

amdan: I think a reasonable offer would likely start around 6x the income, and potentially go up from there. If you have a reasonable reputation you could get $10,000+ for it i'm sure, with the right information available to the buyers. Don't shortchange yourself :)

I want to thank you all for your patience , there is but one of me and so many of you asking questions . Apparently I threw out a price tag that everyone wanted to jump on . I am doing my best to answer your questions but I'm falling behind . Several have asked me to ICQ , right now I'm on a sattelite uplink and the lag times make using ICQ incredibly frustrating , please understand . Hopefully my friends at the phone company will get my line working again by morning .
I have to take my wife out tonight so I have to go now but will try to get all your questions and more financial info done in the morning .

What is your icq number?

I could not upload the last three months numbers , so I put them on a webpage at http://www.cardfind.com/last3.htm
I am working on more info and will place it on the same website for viewing . I am still being swamped with requests on this as I'm trying to get all the numbers together and post them so please don't be upset if I don't email you back right away . I have received over 50 emails on this and it is very hard to keep up .

Okay , I have now posted several files , two of the files , http://cardfind.com/2jan01-Oct01.html and http://cardfind.com/novdecjan.htm show the past 13 months of actual sales . One of the files shows traffic for the main website from July until now (I fired up the current server last July) .

Bottom line , I threw out a price tag yesterday that was obviously too low . On the other hand I do need to sell this quickly as I will start traveling in 2 weeks .

Now based on the information I have provided I would expect to start getting more offers . Those of you that want to do the percentage deal , sorry but I prefer a cash sale , all up front .

Those of you that are serious and and have cash ready please contact me .

I sent you a PM - One thing about your profit sheet, expenses should be taken away not added. Am I mistaken and those not expenses?

Those aren't expenses - they're customers who pay him on a monthly basis. No expenses are shown...it's just gross revenue numbers (accounts receivable)

Dan, I sent you an email. I'd revise that page immediately to omit customer names. Just my humble opinion.

Good luck

Sorry confused monthly incoming payments with monthly outgoing payments. Removing names would be good too i think.

CBTrussel is correct the numbers are stricly receivables . The expenses are'nt really relevent except the server lease payment which is $345 mo w/ 50 gigs transfer (150kbps average) . Anybody taking over the business , I would assume already has a company of their own and their own overhead expenses , the only thing they would possibly inherit is the server payment and the affiliate payments which are currently below $200 mo . The affiliate agreement allows me to drop the affiliate program at any time so even that is not terribly relevent .

Hadn't seen notice of it before....please provide information. Is it a percentage ongoing or a one-time cost? If it is the former, to drop it would not really be very ethical in treatment of the affiliates. If it is one-time, then a purchaser could decide if and how to continue.

The affiliate program is 25% of the sale . On annual purchases its a one time commission , no commissions on renewals . On monthly pay purchases it is ongoing . Like I said , current payments are well under $200 mo and the affiliate program is fruitful . I would not recommend dropping it both because it is unethical and it would result in lost business . However it could be rolled into the buyers current affilate program or ask the affiliates to become resellers . On current monthly pay accounts that were generated by affiliate links I am paying less than $25 month total . If it was an issue I would just payoff those affiliates for the rest of the respective terms and be done . Stopping the affiliate program at that point would not be unethical at all .

And Clarification of the program.
