Webdesigner: when did you design your first site?

Whoops, I was out by a year. I found a copy of it, and here's the head data:

<HEAD>
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Content-Type" CONTENT="text/html; charset=windows-1252">
<META NAME="Generator" CONTENT="Microsoft Word 97">
<TITLE>These are some of the places that are viewed fairly often</TITLE>
<META NAME="Version" CONTENT="8.0.4308">
<META NAME="Date" CONTENT="7/8/97">
<META NAME="Template" CONTENT="D:\MSOFFICE\OFFICE\html.dot">
</HEAD>

and it got worse from there :)

1995! It featured an entire website on one page, gigantic and ugly images and a background that made the text nearly impossible to read, one of those incredibly stuped "overloaded counter" images (with the spinning numbers), and a whole lot of blinking text.

My first website went live on December 31, 1999. I used MGI Photosuite 0.86 and Notepad, and hosted it with Angelfire. Two years later, it's still around, and I'm using Photoshop 6 and CuteHTML and my own domain :)

As they say, you've come a long way, baby!

**** man! My first website was about the program/game "3D Movie Maker" by microsoft. It became so big that it was even featured in a web magazine. I look back on it now and realize IT SUCKS.
