Hi

I am looking to order a telephone system, in the UK.
This is the requirements :-

Be able to put customer(s) on hold.
Forward to diffrent departments.
An answer machine is layed at start, then customer is put in a que till the support is able to answer.

Does anyone know of such system / business who provide this service in the UK.

Its important it does the above, extra functions are welcome. Price IS NO ISSUE!

Cheers.

I'm pretty sure that Lucent can do everything you want - I've used their phone systems here in the US and have been very impressed - Check out http://www.lucent.co.uk/ .

Not sure which Luncent phone system was being used, haven't worked at the company with that phone system in a few years now. I suggest you give them a call and I'm sure that they'll be able to transfer you to someone who can tailor a system to your needs.

One option is to get asterisk and set up a VOIP system and then use something like an X100P card to connect to a single incoming line, or get an ISDN line etc etc.

http://www.asterisk.org/

If you don't want to run it yourself (asterisk can take a while to get the hang of), then I believe a company called gradwell.com will do what you want, and then simply route the calls over the internet to you, i.e. they handle all the answering, phoning departments etc etc.

Hope this helps!

i was looking at a very cool little voip pbx system the other day...

Think I left the URL at the office, but if you're interested in going that route I'll post the URL for the place tomorrow.

important things you'll need to keep in mind when setting something like this up, especially if you plan to have a que system.

how many extentions you'll have (with some room to grow)
how many people you'll have on the phone at one time
how many people will be on hold

If you have 5 people working and have 10 people on hold, you'll need at least 20 (a t1 would have 23) pots lines.

reason for the overhead is if people get placed on hold for your employee to make an outgoing call you can't have all lines used with people in the que.

These types of systems run for big $$$$

would be a lot cheaper for you to go with a key system with a hunt group.

that would mean that anyone can pick up any line, but they'd also have an internal extention. These will be high $$$ or low $$$$. though I don't think they offer a que system like a PBX will.
