Has anyone else every had the problem where outlook 2000 stays as a process even after you close it off and there's this little 'new mail icon' in the system tray but it says 'operation failed' when you click on it?

It's really $&*($@*&$ me off. I should stick to red hat :stickout

one thing I hate is how MSN messenger pops up EVERY damn time I open outlook express! :angry:

I think an option is added when MSN is installed so that you can keep it from popping up when outlook is run. Should be on the General tab of Outlook's Options (Tools > Options...).

the problem is that the option is for not logging in automatically. MSN messenger will still be run when you start up outlook express. There are ways to uninstall msn messenger (check tweakxp.com). In outlook xp, you can completely disable the darn thing.
I have had the same problem with outlook 2000. I didn't really find solution. I would suggest that you try the latest updates or something. Check out the ms knowledge base/ms forums.
