Ive seen so may posts and polls on here asking which is the better software for billing clients, mainly between whmauto and modernbill.

Ive had whmauto for nearly a year now and its done wonders for me. It has a nice clean order form and the admin side is a doddle to navigate. But recent happenings with whmauto left me to look elsewhere

MODERNBILL

Ive tried the demo of modenbill before and got frsutrated becuase things did not work as i wanted them too. But with v3 of whmauto disappearing day by day i decided to try the demo again.

I would say that it installed fine and my servers were working with the scripts FIRST TIME. I was shocked, and decided to play a little, i found that the features modernbill has are what i may need in the future and to change it when i have tons of customers would be a major headache.

Ive now purchased modernbill and ditched whmauto. All the advice i can offer people who are frsutrated with configuring is "take your time". Its taken me 5 days to fully configure it to how i need it, and im sure its not complete yet. But taking your time and reading the manual FULLY will help lots.

The forum has lots of problems answered so you can be sure of great advice there. I really didnt want to change billing software but i am so glad i tried it.

Just thought id share my expereinces :)

I agree with 100% and I think the time it takes to complete the install and config, is well worth the wait. This is a software that can grow with your company like you said and I couldn't imagine waiting until you get really big and then switching.

Bottom line is, you get what you pay for and right now they top of the line in my book.

I too agree, ModernBill is quite a nice piece of software that comes with a lengthy configuration process. I think I am going to give it another shot to configure it to my needs. Thanks for the tips.

it took me like a week
then I went like 3 x 4 times over all configs checking

after that several test orders and improvements and finally fully configured

I upgrade last weekend from 4.2 to 4.3 it was very easy glad I choose modernbill

Definately a good piece of software, very complicated though.

The more complicated, the much better piece of software. I Love It!

I agree. Modernbill is great. Once you get a feel for how things work, then you realise how powerful it really is. Unfortunately their support is quite bad.

I never found their support to be bad. It has a pretty large forum community also which is very helpful.

Modernbill Support has been very helpful for us in the past.

For us it has always been atleast 12 hours response time. So that means atleast a few days to get anything resolved... Sounds bad to me.

I used to support whmap and frowned upon modernbill. However since switching to modernbill I love the thing. For one thing it has options I can use in the future but it also installs pretty easily. Sure the configuration takes awhile but it's worth it. Did I mention blue is my favorite color and the dolphinx theme seems cool to me?

I thought it was pretty easy to install also. I heard lots of people moan about it not working for them and saying it dont work. Goes to show they have no patience. Must admit you need it but its worthit.
