I can't get it too. You don't need to fax anything to get a domain name registered. Although some registrars may require this process in ordering many domains or many years per domain.
Were you pointing to that subject?

Oh..
sorry let me describe.
I am talking about when one looses a domain access password and the domain admin contact email access.
At this time the registrants require a fax authorisation form to be submited in order to get back the access.
Now some fradaunt people can also gain access of any domain by doing so. by geting the fax in our name. As the registrant has no proof about our doman and company at the time of registeration.
If the registrar take a copy of company credentials at the time of domain registerations it will haper such illegal processes.
as if they have documents at the time of registeration they can compare it with the current one ( when one has loss the passsword and email access )
hope u now got the matter.

Few registrars (if any) would make such clumsiness. Since you are buying on-line, some would ask for the last 4 digits of the credit card you used to pay when registering the domain in order to verify that the request is actually coming from the original registrant.

I'm not sure what they require to transfer but check them out www.domainsbyproxy.com but i believe all it really does is hide your whois.

Oh, I think you're confusing people here with the terms registrant
and registrar. Remember that registrant refers to the registered
name holder of the domain name while registrar is the company
that registers and manages the domain name.
The fax isn't the only option to regain access to the domain name
assuming the registrar has input other methods such as sending
the password to the email address on record or there's a security
question. In NetSol's case, they added another wherein the listed
contact can also call from their listed phone in their WHOIS record.

Now that's where the actual party has to prove such a thing did
occur. The registrar may be able to repair the damage done,
though it depends on the registrar itself as nameslave noted.
