What methods are available for digging for info on a host?

I know basic nettools like whois, nslookup, but what else can I try to find more information on a particular host/business?

Thanks.

A reasonably quick method is to do a search in these forum.

You're bound to dig up something. :)

Lats...

Well, ofcourse! :D
That's the first thing I tried... no joy.
The particular host I'm looking at now appears to be a smallish UK host, so that is also a factor....

Try doing a couple of searches on Google. You'd be surprised how much you can find that way. For instance, I originally found out about ***** (and how horrible they are) by doing a search for "***** + sucks" on Google. :)

It is kinda surprising what you find sometimes. I even found some old email logs/archives. Searching the web is easy. I'm curious about more reliable or official sources of information.

Try checking with the BBB. If a host (or any US company, for that matter) has a poor record, they may know about it.
